Just heard about it while listening to the wan show (LTT) from the 22nd.
Seems that linux Tech Tips has suspended sponsorship reads until they (PIA/Kape Technologies) can confirm they will still litigate against getting data i.e. protect users and they suspended advert reads because they have not been able to get confirmation of this.
So if you are/were using PIA because of their strong user privacy values, you may want to consider this.

Praying for my Windscribe to be sustainable. Worst case is always @Nyr's script.

I have been avoiding Cyberghost for reasons. Good to know about them having the same parent company now. Thanks @AnthonySmith

Private Internet Access just tried to keep this Private too.
Another round for the little VPS that could.
I can't afford both a paid VPN and low end herd.
My PIA subscription ends in like 2024, so I was a bit discouraged seeing this a day or two ago. Then I realized I just torrent legal, totally copyright free, Linux ISOs through the VPN so it's not a big deal.

If the links are credible, apparently Kape Technologies, under the previous name Crossrider, used to be an ad injector (read: malware) developer.
Hmm always interesting.
However VPN seems to be one of those push a bunch of money out to get clients then sell to a larger business and restart again.
