I know you are talking in LES context, but in general, this is the reason I want mastodon to be bit more used. Today's internet is too much centralized and that creates information blackhole (with other shenanigans). Everyone should take ownership of their content.

Fully agreed, that's why I self-host all my stuff and don't use any IoT crap like IFTTT.
