Nexus says my VPS is getting migrated (DE>>NL) so dropping a before here & after to follow a bit later.
Big gotcha though - not representative of migration overall. It's a grandfathered once off clearance special with nine lives and a lot of luck that @seriesn very honourably rolled 1:1 specs wise last migration when really the platforms were not 1:1 comparable at all. So regardless of before/after results I won't be complaining

BF to xmas is usually the time to clean up and consolidate... this year has been pretty good for that.
only 'external' VMs that is though, because I have some dedis (Hetzner/SYS) which I virtualize via proxmox and put my clients on it. most of that is just regular managed hosting. also I tend to offload some production things to netcup for instance...
apart from that it's spread across various locations and providers to be used as playgrounds and VPNs for latency optimisation and also a few more storage VMs for backup purposes (rsync/rdiff-backup/borg).
trying out services from new providers that I deem interesting is a bit like an addiction. tend to leave those vps running for a few months or a year to see how it goes. overall I think I am nearing 80-90 providers in my list of whom I tried or had services with in the last 15 years ;-)

What are these single core VPSes with a score below 800 good for? VPNs?
800 for single GB5 score is pretty good. My minimum standard were 550 for single GB5 score.
indeed. but that's the thing, does not make sense to draw a line anyway, because older CPUs might suffer from missing features in newer benchmark generations - which does not neccessarily translate to poor performance in general.
