Hostcram KVM i9 VPS short review

cybertechcybertech OGBenchmark King

Disclaimer: this is not a paid review and no free service extension either.

Killer Core: KVM-3C
3 vCPU Core (i9-11900K)
3 GB DDR4 RAM (Dedicated)
70 GB NVMe SSD Storage
3 TB INAP Bandwidth
1 Dedicated IPv4

This plan comes with Limited Support and our brand new Cloud Portal access with self OS Rebuild, Start, Stop, Restart, TUN/TAP, Console, etc. management options.

Did not get this KVM deal previously because there was no self manage panel which I prefer. Now that Hostcram has gotten this onboard then its all good now.

Similarly to the LXC panel, KVM uses Proxmox on ProxCP and just so easy to use:

List of all your VMs:

Main page has the basic functions Start / Shutdown / Restart functions which is huge and easy to see:

If your into some manual network settings, easy reference as well:

and finally in the Rebuild tab, self serve reinstall. While it would be nice to have Manual ISO support, its not available but not a deal breaker either, as Proxmox can easily boot from iPXE at boot. Not to mention well working VNC and fast reboot time:

But the real reason for getting this VPS is the raw power:

  • I use one custom lxc instances for on demand picture and video encoding and they are very generous with usage imo

No sir. We will not terminate you unless you're in direct violation of our AUP and just didn't care to resolve the issue.

Here is something I wrote on another low-end forum,

You can use 100% of CPU when it's needed, just not 24/7. You can't use 100% CPU in a manner of abuse.

We don't limit or suspend anyone unless they are brusting 100% of CPU 24/7 and not responding to our emails.

We don't keep anyone suspended even if he/she was mining our CPU or doing something that goes against our terms and got reported, "as long as they agree not to do this again using our services."

I believe in multiple chances, not just two. Most likely your service with us will not get terminated unless you have burned too many given chances. I will try not to become a provider who suspends or terminates your service for using 100% CPU for over 90 minutes during peak hours or based on a abuse report made by a guy from antarctica.

I hope this speculation will answer your questions.

I tried visiting @yoursunny datacenter in Antarctica, I believe it is a very impressive facility camouflage in snow, didn't really find it though but I assume all that snow protects the servers in there. All I found are penguins as residents there & the occasional research stations.
