And guess what? Most of them are idling.

Recently I've discovered that there are other options to spend my money on and so I've decided to let them go. Some of them, at least. Maybe.

Wanna adopt an idler or two?

Here's a list of all services. Few remarks:

I've removed the IP addresses. If a service has an IPv4 ASN, it does have IPv4. If it doesn't, it doesn't. Same for IPv6. If the IPv6 ASN is 6939 or 212085, it's not native IPv6, but a tunnel.

The locations may be written in German. Try to translate them if there's some weird name.

Most of the services are paid annually. You may use the "order date" to figure out when they renew.

Most of the services are LET/LEB/LES/Black Friday special offers. I used to have a self-imposed limit of $20/y per service which was lifted recently. The renewal prices are not included in the table, otherwise I would feel much worse about the money spent. If you're interested in specific services, feel free to ask and I'll happily look it up. Please ask in public.

Few rules:

If possible, please check first if the provider allows service transfers. I only do service transfers in accordance with the respective providers. No shady account transfers.

Any transfer fees are paid by the receiving party.

Transfers are final and non-refundable.

The project I'm working on is requiring a lot more data storage space than expected. As in, a lot more space. Since the data is temporary, I'm hoping to get some used SATA compatible hdds that are inexpensive. I just don't want to get drives that have been used for chia mining. I've checked eBay -- but most sellers don't have a good history of their drives listed. Does anyone know of a reputable place to get decommissioned equipment?

(edit, sorry, this ended up in the wrong place)

I see some pre-made tools for this, any recommended ones? Anything to consider that I may overlook as someone not really versed in Discord?

LES is eternal, don't post it if you don't mean it.

Smoking guns are not required, admin/mod decisions are to be respected (reasonable questioning of decisions is fine)

Negative "reviews" without proof will be placed in the Rants section and will do no damage.

Trying to skirt the fine line of being a troll will just get you banned.

ban evasion = re-ban.

Being a general Admin/mod time vacuum = ban.

LES is a buyer beware market, it is not possible to pre-filter every offer or host.

Do not trash offer posts for the sake of it, if you have a genuine issue with a host PM me or write a review if it is service-related, this goes double for other hosts.

Do not dox people in ANY sense of the word.

If you have a bad day or a conflict with someone and make public statements about leaving the forum, "this will be my last post here" etc your account will be considered retired and you will get no warning about this.

If you find yourself in a room of 100 strangers the chances of you not getting along with 1 of them are quite high, now amplify that and make 'the room' an internet forum and make the 100 people 1000's of people the odds of disagreement are much higher, people are different, no one agrees with everyone 100% of the time, consider that when posting, sometimes it really is not worth it.

Even though we are from different parts of the world, the English language is what brings us together. To make sure that we understand each other, we use English when posting.
This doesn’t exclude other languages but should be kept to a minimum to include as many community members as possible (if possible, include a rough translation in English).

How to get a Hosting Provider or Services Provider tag:

Submit provider tag requests on our support site (https://support.lowendspirit.com/index.php?a=add&category=2), registered companies only. (Exceptions can be made for well known sole traders)

minimum of 5 posts and 7 days old account

Please include the following information: Company Name, Billing portal link, email address to validate domain control, link to public incorporation information (official GOV/State sites only). - We will make every effort to provide the tag within 24 hours.

Rules for posting offers:

$7 p/month Maximum for VPS offers

$70 p/month Maximum for Dedicated server offers (Setup fee can be a maximum of 1 month equivalent of server cost, only providers that have been established for 3+ years may charge a setup fee.)

$70 p/month Maximum per U for COLO offers (READ WARNING AT BOTTOM)

$3 p/month Maximum for Shared hosting offers

$7 p/month Maximum for Reseller hosting offers

$5 p/month Maximum for VPN/Proxy related offers

$5 p/month Maximum for Email related offers

If you want to offer general services/design you may start your own thread and then ask a mod/admin via PM to move it to the offers category, as there is no way to put a price on all services just use common sense - no pointless bumping only update it to respond to questions or update/add new info.

Hosts that have been trading less than 2 years may only post monthly or quarterly offers, exceptions can be made on application and review (PM Me)

Failure to follow the rules may result in your Hosting provider tag being removed

7 days between offer posts.

Please do not bump your own offer posts repeatedly unless you have something of genuine significance to add or are directly responding to a comment made within the last 24 hours.

Please do not post any offers for services based out of a colo-crossing location without first confirming via PM that you own your own hardware and IP space and have been operating for at least 3 years, this is to avoid the community suffering from the incredible amount of fraud and scam hosts operating from colo-crossing locations.

Exclusive LES Offers

No specific price rules except they MUST be LES exclusive for at LEAST 24 hours

Only registered providers may post

At least 7 days between offers

LES Exclusive offers do not count towards the general offers section post count i.e. you can make LES exclusives as well as regular offers within the same 7 day period

LES Exclusive offers are given extra exposure on the front page of the forum and can only be seen by logged-in users.

These offers will be moved to the standard offers section after 10 days unless they break the regular pricing rules in which case they will simply be removed.

DO NOT share LES Exclusive offers on other sites under any circumstances unless the offer is at least 7 days old, this will result in a ban without any warning.

As previously stated this is a buyer beware forum, some efforts will be made to prevent people from falling victim to obvious scams, however, this forum is not a nanny state as others in the industry tend to be you must apply common sense.

Do not buy yearly deals from a company that has not even been in business for a year.

COLO offers, there are known colo scams going on all over the internet right now, be SURE you know who you are sending your server to and that you can have a reasonable level of confidence in the company.

If someone without a hosting provider or services provider tag wants you to PM them for an offer or PM's you directly with a proposition that involves you parting with money you should do a significant amount of research before paying a penny, a large percentage of these types of offers are likely to at best be not what they seem and at worst an outright scam.

INFO:

Just to save time on the obvious, this forum is absolutely an impression/rough estimation with modern tweaks of lowendtalk before it was shamelessly and underhandedly sold, Essentially LET without the corruption

The forum was started by me @AnthonySmith for full disclosure I do own a hosting company 'Inception Hosting' and I realize that will possibly create some arguments about bias, this is not something I can change until the forum is handed over to the new community owners so you will just need to live with this fact or choose not too, if you choose not to accept this then please just logout now you will only hurt the community with conspiracy soup.

I appreciate some people hate the idea of others making money (usually while using money themselves in everyday life) again this is not something I can or will even try to change, the absolute fact is that companies were making money off the back of the original LET/B and that money enables people to live, eat, start families and provide, the community needs a commercial element, the commercial element needs the community, if you want to be part of a community whereby making money or advertising is frowned upon then this is not the community for you.

You can change your theme between Night and Day under your profile/edit profile to work best for your eyes/device, bugs exist, please report them in the bug reports thread.

Lately I'm toying with the idea of setting up a server for cold storage (i.e. backups of backups) in one of the Dallas DCs. I'm wondering if anyone wants to do some cost-sharing. If I start with 48TB, it is probably around $1/TB/mo, but if I pack in 192TB (which I cannot use by myself) it goes down to more like $0.60-0.70.

Pros: new enterprise drives in RAID 5/6, KVM, pretty cheap (per TB), no exorbitant BW costs, flexible on config (this means you can use your own drives, send encrypted data via mail if you time it right, have your own RAID array or whatever).

Cons: this would be a bit older hardware (think 2x E5-2630 v3). So this is NOT for anyone who wants to run Plex with transcoding, CPU-based encryption, etc. No fancy SolusVM or DA control panel. No SLA - I am not your hosting company so it is not for you if you need 24/7 support or "five-nines" type uptime or will squeal if the ping is over 10 msec to your location.

Thoughts? Interest? At the moment still just contemplating the idea and haven't crunched it in detail, so no decision to do it yet.

Anyone heard of DynamicHosting.ca before? Guess that migration finally gives me a good reason to migrate away from HM. Wanted to migrate for a while but postponed it.

@bikegremlin if you are still there, maybe think twice whether you wanna stay.

Dear client,

First and foremost, we would like to thank you for being a loyal customer over the years, we are profoundly grateful for your support. As our company has grown, we have made several modifications to our services and solutions adapting to the ever-changing demands of today’s IT landscape. Through it all, our goal has been to ensure we provide our clients with world-class solutions, technical support, and impeccable customer service.

As of July 1st, 2022, to continue our evolution we are partnering with Dynamic Hosting. Going forward, Dynamic Hosting will be managing all monitoring, technical support, and billing services accordingly.

We genuinely appreciate your business over the years, much of our growth can be attributed to amazingly dedicated customers like you. In the coming days, you will receive a detailed email containing details from Dynamic Hosting on how to contact technical support, customer service and account management.

FAQ:

What happens to my account?

Initially, nothing at all. However, in mid-July communications will begin going out to schedule a migration of your account to a new platform. As part of the Partnership with Dynamic Hosting our hosting infrastructure is being upgraded to the latest technologies. This upgrade will require a migration to the new platform that our support team will manage for you during a scheduled maintenance window that suits you.

How will I interact with my account?

The same client area account that you currently use will remain available to you (i.e. https://my.hostmantis.com/clientarea.php ). In August an upgrade to that system will also occur during a brief maintenance window. However, there should be no functional change for you.

Support Information (For Use After July 1, 2022)

support@dynamichosting.ca - Technical Support - 866-567-8464 option 2

deb@dynamichosting.biz – 866-567-8464 Ex 954 – Billing/Account Management

Will my credit card be migrated?

At this time, it will not, Dynamic Hosting will set up your account on their system and request updated billing information. Once complete, as of July 1, 2022, all future invoices will be paid to Dynamic Hosting and HostMantis invoices will cease.

Will my pricing change?

Not at all, all pricing and services provided by HostMantis will be the same after the transition to Dynamic Hosting.

Thank you for your continued patronage,

The offer is available here. You need to apply code "GAMES-HOT" to get the discount.

Starts from 50€ (Germany location, default config).

Bought my lifetime MC server in December (?!) along with @Logano and some other LE users.
It has been a solid server so far and support is quick to reply (avg ticket response some 7-15 mins, during day time even 2-3 mins; sometimes even livechat is available). I recently experienced some performance issues but they migrated my server to another host system and now it runs quite smoothly

ZAP-Hosting is a long established Gameserver Host (one of the first ones I remember from Germany that were popular MC hosts along with Nitrado, G-Portal..).

If you are running a Minecraft Server with some Gameserver host, or want to run one, now might be a good time to settle for "lifetime" with a well established german provider and ditch energy price hikes from other gameserver providers where your monthly/yearly sub's price can change any time

According to ZAP there are more than 3000 active lifetime servers:

Instead of renting a better model from the ISP, I'd rather grab some WiFi router below 100€ to put behind the modem and just own the thing. I've used an Asus RT AC58U in the past (Dualband WiFi, MuMimo, multiple Gbit ports, VPN..) and am looking for something similar again. Wireguard/VPN support would also be nice but is not mandatory.

Any recommendations?

As you are aware with the spike in global/international rate of electricity which is affecting every business. The rate for electricity is fluctuating and rising by the day - 8 months ago we were roughly paying €0.14 cents per KWh, and now we are paying as high as €0.62 cents per KWh (continuing to increase).

In order to maintain our cheap packages and pricing, we are planning a node upgrade which will only affect storage related nodes for now. In the upcoming days you will receive an email with more details regarding this update and critical information regarding downtime so you can plan ahead.

We plan to apply for some ECO Projects as well as plan to replace our current supplier with an ECO friendly supplier. This should have gone into affect by the end of this month, however the bureaucracy has put a hold onto our project therefore adding a further delay of 3-4 months (or more).

Some of our ideas to reduce overall power consumption at our datacenter for not to increase the price:

• We plan to implement a few larger nodes for storage. At the moment we only have 48 TB per node but we will be upgrading our storage to 96 TB per node - therefore a decrease in the total amount of available nodes.

• We plan to cut down on CPUs by removing at least 1 CPU from 70% of our available nodes

• We plan to set all servers from Maximum Power Usage to save on power

We are quite upset and we can understand your concerns. This is not something that we want to do however to ensure that we can maintain our pricing and service quality, it is a step that we must take.

If you have any further questions or concerns, do not hesitate to reach out to office@ihostart.com or discord Stapinu#0670

Kind regards,

Dear Jovan Janevski,

You are receiving this email as you are or have been a customer with MrVm and your customer information is stored in our system.

MrVM was created when LowendSpirit was a project targeting NAT services at a very low price, giving the opportunity to as many as possible to explore and prepare for IPv6.

The decision has now come to pass on the torch and MrVM will no longer be owned by "the Swedish Viking" Mikael (aka mikho).

I have contacted two companies about a takeover of services and customers. Before any information is transferred between MrVM and the receiving company, I want to give you, the customer the opportunity to decide if you want your personal information removed before the transaction takes place.

Do note that by asking for client information removal, you are also canceling all your current services with MrVM.

The transfer of data is expected to start the earliest by end of July.

If you would like to have your personal information removed, please open a ticket as soon as possible requesting for removal of your information.

Public discussion about this will be held at the LowEndSpirit forum: https://lowendspirit.com. Feel free to sign up if you haven't already.

I will probably stay active within MrVM for some time but ownership will be passed over to someone else.

I would like to take the opportunity to thank you all for these years that the service has been active.

It has always been a zero-sum project, where everything you paid for the service has been used to pay for all nodes and expand the network.

I will stay active on the LES forum.

Thank you again.

I was logged into my console and ready to set this up when I thought I should ask first: Anyone else done this? Is it really 75GB free? I see the ***asterisks, but they are never qualified anywhere (as far as I can tell).

The idea was, to have a CLI tool, that can run ping tests for you, on all available public looking glasses.
And Listing them all together in a kinda neat sorted table.

Here it is: https://github.com/Ne00n/Snake-Ping

It does need locally installed chromium copy, some things need to be run in a browser like web sockets.
You can edit the path in the config file.

Lemme show you its features.

When you die, you don't know you're dead, and you don't suffer.
The others suffer.
It's the same when you're stupid.

Follow me for more promotion speech ideas.

...Wait... that was for Linkedin... now where are my notes?!

Anyway, I've been checking out shared, and reseller hosting offers over the past few months. Not an expert in VPS-s, so take this all with a grain of salt - thinking out loud.

There is worldwide inflation. The current LES price limits seem to put many decent-quality, affordable offers out of reach. To double-check that, I took a look at what the current LET limits are. They're roughly 50% higher than LES.

Would it make sense to literally double our current limits?

A practical example:
I could see Veerotech and MDDHosting offering something for 2x the current LES limit prices.
And I'd consider that beneficial to both LES members and the providers.

Those are just two companies I've had a good experience with (short time still for MDDHosting though, but Veerotech's been very solid for well over a year I've used the service).
And I'd be happy to bother them to offer a good deal on LES (and wouldn't be too surprised if they agreed, nor too surprised if they ghosted me for that matter ).

Good experience (for providers and members) could see offers and (hopefully, high-quality) members rolling in. Helping LES grow.

My concerns:
Wouldn't like to see another WHT, nor any LET-like drama (we've got those places for such thrills).

What do you think?

Hi!

Some of you might have already come across our website before, but 4 years after launching we're still in active development and adding new providers on a very regular basis.

For those of you who don't know us yet, Server Hunter was created to help solve the issue of finding the right server for your needs. Instead of going through hundreds of forum topics and google results to find a server in Singapore with IPv6 and 8 GB of RAM, it's now just a quick search away.

If you have a specific search you want to monitor, you can just click the notification bell at the right top of the results. And if you happen to find a specific server that is out of stock, you can just click "Notify me" and our Discord bot will send you a message within 60 seconds of it coming back in stock.

A few weeks ago we completely overhauled the search interface, allowing you to just enter your query instead of having to click all filters manually. While we're still working on improving the UX even more, this should be a good step forward.

We would love to get your feedback to see if there is anything we can do to improve the website for your needs. While I can't promise we can implement every single suggestion, it does help us immensely to get different perspectives.

As always, you can find us at https://www.serverhunter.com/

Hope you find it useful!

Hi there,

I'd like to do some market research for a upcoming project.
I'm currently working on extending my billing panel to support KVM nodes based on Proxmox VE.

It'll be IPv6 only + NAT64 + Reverse Proxy in the beginning, at some point I might also implement full dual stack capabilities.
Despite the IPv6 only network stack I'd like to market them as "production ready" running on reliable hardware

The beta will start next week if all goes well.

I've created a form to get some feedback on the locations and plan sizes
https://ianklemm.de/index.php/apps/forms/xAarwqrs7tpHZXDS

Please let me know if you have any questions or feedback

Thanks!

Hosthatch is the cheapest storage provider
I like their service very much
Until this migration

My server will expire soon. I want to switch to two-year payment
Enjoy the discount I bought the server at that time
Accidentally issued two tickets
Hosthatch creates an invoice and requires payment within 48 hours
And threatened me by deleting the server, which shocked me
Do you have this situation?
After I read all TOS of hosthatch
No relevant content found
Can you give me a reasonable explanation?

I still like you very much
I don't want to make a bad impression on you because of this kind of thing
@hosthatch
