Apparently that translates to "Use a proxy to order" and the box you tick that says "orders placed via proxies will be automatically rejected translates to "Please order anyway then open a ticket asking why"
My entire morning has been spent dealing with that and taking abuse and being called racist, so whoever posted it there can "bacon my mushrooms".

Clouvider Any hints on what the LES mystery server might be? £60 is a lot of money to risk on potential disappointment.
Its nothing like an Atom or similar; Enterprise Chassis, E3v5 or newer, DDR4 ECC, random assignment of disk(s) and a little extra bandwidth over standard and at least a 1Gbps port.

@AnthonySmith
Hi, is there any known issues with the storage VPS you post in this thread? I bought a storage VPS from you but it took forever to install a few small packages. I did a benchmark and found out the I/O speed is absurdly slow. The only time I experienced this kind of poor I/O performance is when my hosthatch VPS had some disk issues. So I'm wondering is something went wrong with the the server?
I hope there is something wrong with the server. If it is just how it is because it's dirt cheap, I'd rather pay more to get half the storage. Right now it's barely usable for me.

I've been on two different Storage servers with Inception Hosting (in US and UK), and both performed well for all regular tasks (apt update and upgrades etc).

Yep, the issue is that people are repeatedly benchmarking disk io on a storage vps’s.
Not sure if I've tried benchmarking, but in all these months, it's been rock stable and responding to queries/performing tasks without issues.
So, hereby recommended!

Boss, how could people do benchmarks all the time? The server was slow as hell when I first logged in yesterday , and it is also barely usable today. I did this benchmark only to show you I'm not exaggerating the problem by using the words "absurdly slow". I don't really want to know the I/O speed if I can't feel it is slow.

I can confirm that there was something unusual yesterday late afternoon (EU time) with the US storage server: my Hetrix monitor kept reporting that my storage VPS was unreachable (up, then down, over an extended period of time); in addition, ssh connections were unusually slow. By mid-evening, things had settled down.
"A single swap file or partition may be up to 128 MB in size. [...] [I]f you need 256 MB of swap, you can create two 128-MB swap partitions." (M. Welsh & L. Kaufman, Running Linux, 2e, 1996, p. 49)
What happens when there are storage server sales is that you get a bunch of people transferring a huge amount of data, an extra 4TB in the past 36 hours, on top of that you see a ton of people maxing CPU and generating huge IOPS with ridiculous benchmark scripts that can take an hour to finish on a slow server, longer when the server is being maxed out, everything feeds in to slowing something else down.
Generally, people using it for storage are not impacted, people using a storage server for general use are unsurprisingly impacted and then complain.
I will admit it has been hit particularly hard on this occasion due to the volume of sales but it will settle.
I will end the offer now to prevent any further disruption, give it 24 hours, I am totally uninterested in synthetic benchmarks however if you still can’t use it for storage at that point open a ticket.

I had to look up the meaning of bacon your mushrooms. Could not find a good one but I guess it has something to do with the 'undercarriage'
Coming back to the point. Probably the same person x posted as last time when an innocent party got blamed. Enough said

Thats what you get benchmarking shared resources. Youre basically just f&#%ing everyone else over.

@Not_Oles "server rent for the current configuration is $29.95 per month" is for the whole server ? (SoYouStart 2 x 2 TB SATA).
Just a super random question, but how did you manage to get this (and only this) translated @AnthonySmith ?
