Windscribe VPN to break up with all their affiliates

Windscribe decided they want to be #1 not because affiliates say it but for the sake of being the best. As such they removed the affiliate system:

Nice step imho :)

  • It often (not always) boils down to cutting costs. But always sounds good when explained using that - "not paying for reviews". :)

It’s a bit hypocritical for a VPN provider to use tracking links!

Link without the tracking: https://blog.windscribe.com/were-not-paying-for-1-25b4e55ca10f ;)

I do think it’s good of them to stop the affiliate scheme, as most the VPN ranks are just paid spaces.

Interesting read, when it came to BF/CM I could not even get them to do any sort of plan for LES users, not even for less money possibly just some unique features, zero-cost advertising.

They are always welcome to advertise here for free though, I think taking the stance of "We will not advertise at all" sounds great but is one that will either be reversed or regreted within 18 months as everyone forgets who they are when brand recognition diminishes.

How will this change that? :)
The others will keep it up.

But if you can't compete with affiliate rates, it's probably better to quit, and call it "not paying for reviews" (to get at least some marketing boost out of it).

I hear you, but it has another weigth coming from Yegor/Windscribe as Windscribe is already one of the best VPNs around imho so they definitely haven't had to rely on shills/affiliates I'd assume.

  • I considered them as my VPN provider, but haven't found a third-party audit yet. I ended up paying Surfshark.
