Google lost blogspot.in domain..and chaos ensues
Google loses ownership over blogspot.in, users face issues accessing their blogs
Google’s blogspot.in is currently inaccessible to many users in India. People who post on the platform are facing issues getting access to their blogs. Many web pages within the Indian domain are inaccessible at the moment. This is because Google has lost control over the URLs blogspot.in.
However, blogs are visible when users change the URLs to blogspot.com, but the major issue is that over a million users who have put links with blogspot.in domain on various websites are now broken links.
Blogspot has now been acquired by Domainming.

WhoIs confirms it. Looks like domainming are going to get a lot of free PR and traffic!
As many of you may be aware, this is
not for the first time that google has lost a domain! Maybe they should set up google calendar alerts for renewal.
And btw- confirming the above. Blogspot.in shows me this:

Didn't they use MarkMonitor to manage all their domains? It's really hard to believe they forget to renew a domain...
They should look into auto-renewing using google domains LoL ?
Hey I was gonna say that !!

If you read the article he posted on when they lost google.com you would see that they have that specific domain (google.com) on Google Domains and were able to reverse the purchase (although they had to pay for it anyway). They probably use Google Domains for all domains, but I guess they missed it again somehow.
Look like google is not earning enough money from it so they forget it to renew or maybe wanted to close it.

Usually there would be a redemption period (although not sure for .in tld), so it's kinda odd that the domain didnt just become inactive/parked for a period first, before being free to register.
If true, things might be more insidious then they appear...

TL:DR Appears a "server renew prohibited" status (along with others) was placed on the domain about 2 years ago, and only recently were the other statuses removed sometime before expiry, preventing renewal of the domain.
