Even highly oversold networks have less than 1TB bandwidth per VPS in Taiwan, and the second part is just a copy paste error.

    Hi,

Sorry about the typo, has been fixed!

Our bandwidth is not oversold and we do not wish to saturate our network, that way all our clients can experience an equal quality network. Our Taiwan location offers an optimized route to China, with low latency! :)

  • edited November 2020

San Jose location is truly China optimized. RTT from all three carriers are under 200ms.

    Worldwide traceroute: https://atlas.ripe.net/measurements/28283003/

    Too bad there's no IPv6.

Can you post the full benchmark? I'd like to see the CPU and bandwidth situation.

  • @SoftShellWeb Didn't mean to imply you are overselling, I just know of a few providers in that region with highly oversold networks, that still offer less than 1TB bandwidth. So, somebody who is trying to offer quality will obviously have less bandwidth.

doesn't matter, I was the first 5 got the vps and it was 130mb/s the network was slow.

it's a no raid or raid 1 SSD node. That's what I'm saying.

AS9678 is Taipei location. BGP routing table indicates they only peer with China Mobile. It's unsurprising that it's unusable from China Unicom and China Telecom.

This is the San Jose location benchmark I'm looking for. The CPU score is much worse than SmartHost Los Angeles I currently use. Not worth it for 10ms lower RTT.

The I/O is set to fair share and the server node is 8x SSD(Samsung Datacenter grade) in raid 10, however it seems that a lot of users are doing bench tests, which is slowing down the performance.

CMIIW, usually China Optimized means have direct peering with China carrier.

  • @Kiwi84 said:

You can consider the San Jose location. It peers with China Telecom and China Mobile, according to BGP.
    See measurements above: https://talk.lowendspirit.com/discussion/comment/46500/#Comment_46500

Taipei location only peers with China Mobile. It's good for personal VPN, but not good for websites unless you have GeoDNS and use it as replica.

I used to have GeoDNS (dnspod international), but I don't bother with that anymore, because all my Chinese pages are from 2006-2010 and there are significantly fewer readers.
