Anyone still using Astra? I use it on one website atm, however kinda unsure whether it is really worth the purchase.
Also: Not sure, whether this is an actual "deal", but the Samsung T5 External SSD 2TB is available on Amazon for 149€. I thought this was a good price for external SSDs. After asking about people's experience with NVMe drives, I realized I had only one M2 slot on my motherboard which was already occupied, so I opted for an external SSD instead of a regular internal SATA SSD to have a bit more flexibilty.

I'd keep an eye on a new motherboard than on a slow external drive.

Nice, looking for some good enough VPN LTD, any possibilities for below $10?
Let me know if you find any that have a policy similar to hostsolutions with regards to "linux isos", but with an uptime that is not "down right now".
@teamacc@FAT32 Stacksocial in mind. They might drop some discounts on BF/CM again and you might snag FastestVPN below 12$ and/or Keepsolid for around 10-15$
Any promotion for either NordVPN, PureVPN or Windscribe?
quite some things they had already in between, RS 2000 G9 at 11,20 is a lot of value for instance... but also the hurricane, volacno and tornado things might become interesting, depending on what the final specs are. as usual one should be really on time for the good offers, as they are expected to sell out quickly.
I'll try to keep track and post the order links in here, as soon as I get to know them.
also keep in mind, that netcup has strict contracts, billing terms and cancellation periods. that's not everyones cup of tea, so don't bother, if you're not willing to deal with that ;-)

The whole rig is new, so not looking to change the mb. Also, "slow external drive" is probably up to perception. I already have a T3 external SSD in use and was quite happy with the Crystal Performance I measured. Definitely faster than HDD and only a tad below my internal SATA SSD at that time.
Of course, M2 is another story, but for gaming I find that the T3 (and, likely also the T5), do a good job.

I am sure they will have a sale going-on on their websites, respectively. No LTDs, though. I assume.

does not look like it. the cheapest RS offer seems to be the one labeled 'Flash' for 10 bucks and I'd expect it to be something like 2 core, 12 GB, 320 GB - simply as they had similar offers before. puts it somewhere between RS 1000 and 2000 though.

+1 for this being the official one.
don't see a reason to add more threads while the whole BF train is speeding up already ;-) it's hard to keep track of everything, so rather use this one and even pin it @mikho@Mason ?

@InceptionHosting sorted this for you. now would you please start posting your offers already? :-P
It doesn't seem like someone else has reported it, but Hetzner is offering AX/PX dedis with no setup fee for the Black Friday week.
I am tempted to buy 3 AX41-NVME in Helsinki. Do you think Helsinki would be a bad location in terms of latency for US users? For most locations the difference seems to be max 20ms compared to Falkenstein.
At the moment I have cloud servers in their new Ashburn, Virginia location. I would love the dedicated resources and higher specs of those dedis, so I am just concerned about the latency. WDYT?

Interesting that they won't offer a discounted VPS 200 G8 this year ...
"A single swap file or partition may be up to 128 MB in size. [...] [I]f you need 256 MB of swap, you can create two 128-MB swap partitions." (M. Welsh & L. Kaufman, Running Linux, 2e, 1996, p. 49)

Yup, I love affinity too! Much cheaper (and imho more intuitive) than paying for Creative Cloud. Although, I remember buying Designer and Publisher a few years back for $25 on BF/CM - looks like they raised their prices a little bit

Totally agree. Really happy to only pay once than having to pay continously for a Creative Cloud sub. Affinity Apps are also very intuitive They certainly raised the price a bit, though :P Still, fair game!
Why do you say this? There are three KVM offers on the list.

Thanks for posting this information! We have been a bit short-handed here in the marketing team lately, and there's been a lot going on!
If you're feeling a bit hesitant, you could always try out the dedicated root servers. If, after a few months, your customers aren't satisfied, you can cancel, and you will not be tied into a yearly contract. With most of the dedicated root servers, we have a cancellation policy of 30 days to the end of the month. If you realize within 14 days or less that you're unsatisfied after you make your order, you can cancel your servers free and clear. Just don't abuse the 14-day policy. If customers do this multiple times, we may block the account. --Katie

yeah, I noticed too. best guess is IP costs make 1.90 vps not feasible anymore. that, or the overhead with verification, abuse and payment dropouts...
