On my servers I usually rely on a combo of Cloudflare (1.1.1.1) + Google (8.8.8.8). I usually add Cloudflare IPv6 as the third option.
For personal usage I rely on AdGuard Home and then Quad9/Cloudflare (in that order) as fallback.
I should probably start using some IPv6 addresses in my resolv.conf as well, but seeing as providers randomly have issues with IPv6 connectivity, it'd probably be picked as a third option.
Just because those are the first IPs that come up in my head when I am asked to enter DNS resolvers. I am trying to get myself to remember 1.1.1.1 as well.
If IPv6 is present on server:
nameserver 2001:4860:4860::8888
nameserver 2001:4860:4860::8844

Home stuff is 1.1.1.1 over DoH via pihole
...VPS not too fussed...whatever is the default.
Question: what's the point of DoH besides circumventing firewall restrictions, especially if one already have a VPN?
The all seeing eye sees everything...
I prefer a local unbound/powerdns, it adds a few ms fore sure but don't wanna use google/cloudflare/others

So… what resolvers are your local dns servers using?

Unbound can (and is generally used to) work as a recursive DNS server, not just forwarding. Probably that?
Same on my side only the other way around first google then 1.1.1.1
I use ours:
I use 1.1.1.1 and 8.8.8.8 in this exact order
