Looking for LES Mod (Community Manager)
Will try to make this short and sweet:
We're looking for a well-known member of LES to join the staff here to join @mikho and myself as a moderator. This will be a non-paid position. Not looking for someone to do this as a "job", but rather as a hobby/side project if it interests them. There will be no activity or time requirements, just whenever you feel up for helping out around the place. Both mikho and myself have had a lot going on personally, causing some behind-the-scene housekeeping things from getting the attention they deserve.
There isn't much moderation that needs to be done on discussions here (thanking you all for that), below are the types of activities that we'd like some help with. I think these fall more in line with something a "Community Manager" might be doing, instead of a Content Moderator.
- Attending the help desk (evaluating and acting on provider tag requests, username changes, random other requests)
- Soliciting and preparing LES Talk posts for release (reaching out to those who said they may be interested in writing a post, formatting and preparing the thread, coordinating sponsorships from providers at LES)
- Ensuring posted offers abide by our selling rules
- Possibly some managing and posting to our underutilized socials (facebook, twitter, who knew we even had these? :P)
- Depending on user's skillset, potentially helping with CSS/theme updates, debugging plugins, other site changes
If you think this sounds like "fun" and you think you may be interested, then you might just be crazy enough to join mikho and me. Feel free to express interest publicly (by commenting here), privately (by messaging me), or offer your condolences to anyone that volunteers as tribute.

Would like to help keep this place as it is (and better), running for a long time.
Having said that, as always - I'm also happy to see someone else do the job, even if it's paid.

To everyone wondering whether they are up for the task: @Mason and @mikho are super cool guys to deal with as "superiors" and things are usually really chill to moderate. If you are hesitant, just apply. Worst thing is they'll pick someone else

Just my thoughts, why not take on two? Rather than it being a "burden" which it never is at first but slowly does eat away at you as your life changes... Why not double it from current number of admins - split the moderation between four of you then its relatively little to do and will still feel like a hobby rather than an obligation!
I would volunteer but I really don't have the time! Maybe have a community vote on the applicants? Its too easy for it to become a popularity contest in anyway you run it so my thoughts would be get anyone who puts their name down to be involved to write a paragraph about LES and what they'd like to achieve as a mod and we vote on the content of their writing and character anonymously
Saying that, Bikegremlin and Michael would be my picks from who wants in so far
I'd like to suggest @deank - because if security companies hire hackers, wouldn't it be wise for a forum to have the official troll as a moderator?
That would be a first - but this place is special!
Deank's been here long enough, knows what's what, and the only challenge I can foresee is writing a script that would take away all of his mod privileges during the full moon.

Tho I have to bounce the ball back to you, at least for now as I'm attending LES less and less. Plus have some other stuff to do right now. Maybe when my time frees up I'd be up but as of now, I don't have it.
