sorry @ehab , I love you, but this time you earned it :-P
-
we'll most likely only learn during the sale, however based on previous ones, I'd expect the 7.77 to be something along the lines of 4C/8G/750G and the 12.12 accordingly higher... the RS black specials could be based on their G8 line using the xeon gold. maybe the 2000/4000/8000 äquivalent with some more RAM/disk? they do…

ahaha, beat you to it :-P
-
educated guess: a few dedis without setup fee. 5€ cloud coupons, only for new customers. sorry @Hetzner_OL but I'd be only surprised, if you bring up somethin non boring and while I also like the image and marketing strategy, doesn't sell old wine for me :-P
-
this is probably a misunderstanding / language barrier. 'so I heard' in relation to @beagle post is me confirming that you are not using raid5 anymore - but raid10 instead, which I stated before. because 'i heard' it in the other topic where we were discussing the raid levels... ;-)
-
so I heard ;-)
-
there is a raid 10 out of 14x 12TB disks resyncing ... that's not done in an hour or two. and even while you could provision with the sync still happening, you would not want that either, because everyone would complain about bad disk performance instantly. @msatt you are around long enough to know that @cociu is the king…

thanks for trying it out and checking. average joe won't care anyway I guess and pricing seemed to good to really be belgium. no real surprise here...
-
yes, I fully agree, especially the dedis and stuff is probably just reselling. could be though, that the VMs are belgium, dunno... maybe really someone tries and ask for a refund if not belgium. would be a good test on support and handling billing issues as well, LOL.
-
https://face-h.eu/website/vps.php 2.99 for 2GB ... says they are having their infrastructure somewhere in belgium close to Namur since end of 2019 ... no idea who they are and why, you asked about Belgium though ;-) ;-)
-
fair enough and I did not really expect you to match the prices, so no worries. yes that bundle is more or less my sweet spot for now, hence I thought testing the waters can't hurt ;-) I am usually light on cpu usage, however prefer the availability of two cores for better concurrency. I also most likely won't even use…

alright, as everyone is asking lowend, how about something more beefy: 2 core, 4GB RAM, 50 GB SSD, 2TB interested in clouvider locations, in particular london and frankfurt, maybe also amsterdam and new york. I do have similar from UltraVPS, Avoro and Hostslick with a price tag of around 35€ yearly - I know, I know...…

this. needed to do that only once in 15 years, if I remember correctly. essentially as a customers it's not really a ticket, but mail conversation. works easy enough. I would call them though, if I ever think I would need to escalate ;-) PS: never needed to do that with hetzner anyway, used their support only for hardware…
-
you could search for packages needed for whatever you are on right now and download them directly and install via dpkg, though I guess gnupg will depend on quite some more packages which might be missing as well... https://packages.ubuntu.com/bionic/gnupg you could also do something like apt -o…
-
haha, I didn't know this one ?
-
heyhey! divorced for >2y now, so yeah, life is good ;-)
-
will only work for containers not VM guests. while not officially supported, you can use 9p: http://www.linux-kvm.org/page/9p_virtio if I remember correctly there is even a way to add it to the conf files of the VMs... as other pointed out, the best alternative though would be an nfs-server running on the host where the…
-
simply this. haven't had any issues so far, using them in production for smaller webpages and also some private VPN stuff (much traffic included) - however, I am used to german cancellation policies and stuff and understand that this can be confusing otherwise. I used the 20€ coupon yesterday to get another addon IP…
-
don't forget D for Dell ;-) however, I also don't know about the Q vs X ... interesting read: https://docs.hetzner.com/de/robot/dedicated-server/general-information/root-server-hardware/ there you can also lookup the old models, which you can grab via serverboerse to see the official naming back then.
-
just deleted one out of three VMs I still have there (UK location, hardcore idler since 2015!!). the other two are in their frankfurt location and kind of production use, so probably just keep them, despite the price raise. still cheap, rock solid reliable and too much hassle to look for something else in that exact spot,…

I bet we'll soon enough see more public keys popping up in here... (though you really tried to make it very clear ;-)) ----------------------------vvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvv---------------------------

this is THE best monitoring service EVER and these type of giveaways truly are something I have never seen someone else doing... please please keep up your work @Andrei and thanks a lot. pub key: 1635b431c33591df55386fceaaf46c9c

yes. essentially there is no billing cycle if you renew manually. you just get to pick 1, 3, 6, 12 months, whatever you want. only if you set it to automatic it might keep the last period, but I am not sure. may change to monthly anyway. and no worries about the discount, from my experience if they say it to be recurring…

oh no... ?

LOL.

please report back, ideally a yabs and some fio (because it's not in yabs yet @Mason ;-) :-P )

* amazon lightsail is $3.5 a month for the smallest plan. still not cheap but reliable and good for the intended purpose (Equinix DC in FRA). * avoro 3€ monthly, maybe cheaper if you can deduct german VAT (first-colo) * fastpipe.io 2.95€ per 30 days, maybe cheaper if you can deduct german VAT (afaik own peerings and DDOS…

you think so? meant as a warning... you better stop. now. before it's too late...

And yet you probaly have still no idea how far they have already taken that clicking thing in terms of additional levels and layers. They do special stuff f.i. on christmas as well... Gazillions.
-
It's the aspect of automating and optimizing, that can keep you busy with this one. Think about the possibilities with an idling vserver. throw some remote desktop on it, a browser and script a bit of mouse clicking.. soon you'll become more of a daily manager to the grandmas and reinvestments and such rather than just a…
