Like I already mentioned in the other thread, I'd probably still go for FastestVPN (which is what I use as backup after Keepsolid/Windscribe). Some people have measured 300+ Mbit/s with it, I usually get 100-150 Mbit/s with it. Nothing I can complain about. Easy enough to grab for 12,75$ with code ADFIOJAE (2 concurrent…

That sounds pretty good. Didn't realize they were on Stacksocial. I bought the 500$ LTD "on sale" for like 100$ iirc

Got it to work now, too. What do you mean when you say you had to use your main account? I only have one pCloud account (no family sharing), so wasn't really an issue. I use Google Authentication to log on to pCloud. Worked like a charm :) Afaik Koofr didn't have it's own wp backup plugin. There was just a third party…

Woop woop! Backup run successfully on a fresh install @vyas :) Seems like it works with Subdomains, too. It just can't create a folder on pCloud if your wp install is at smth like domain.com/folder or subdomain.com/folder. That is to say it can only deal with subdomain.domain.com or domain.com format to create folders on…

That may be true, but since Updraft basically just zips/archives the files and folders I have been using it for backups for years :P I just sync the Updraft Folder to GDrive or connect via WinSCP and sync the updraft backup directory from server to a local directory on my PC from where it is usually synced to a Koofr and…

The plugin I used was the bottom left. Did the backup to pCloud work for you? On my fresh dummy wp install, the zipping worked, however upload to pCloud failed and it said it couldn't find directory. I assume that is the case because dummy install was at "demo.domain.com/wp/dummy" and I'd assume it failed to create this…

Appears like it is missing some kind of permission to create ZIP: Update: Did a fresh WP install and zipping works now :) Seems like I'll have to go digging for a conflicting plugin or smth else that caused the error on my main site. Currently: "uploading to pCloud": Let's see when this is done :D

Oh, well. The lifetime addict in me went straight for the LTD (500GB). Might upgrade at a later point if WP plugin thrives. Btw. just saw in pCloud plugin readme that ZIP needs to be enabled for PHP. I ticked the ZIP extension in DirectAdmin, though. Am I missing anything?

I am sorry, but I don't really follow Oxygen Builder news. I think I am in one of their FB groups, but I never used/bought the product.
-
I thought you already had pCloud? But maybe I am mistaken? Also, I'll have to retry later, but after installing the WP Plugin and connecting my pCloud I run a backup and it failed at creating zip archive, so gotta double check or report it to them. Anyway, the plugin is a brand-new rework and I'm sure they'll make it work…

Also just migrated my ultimate website with HM to @MikePT and it was super smooth :)
-
I'll have to update that one soon and remove HM. Yeah, @MikePT is great :D

Would be convenient if future theme best practices included a checkbox in theme options to "download and host all used fonts locally and remove google fonts references" as an aio gdpr solution :D I'd also rather use cdn (e.g. Coollabs or Bunny CDN GDPR fonts), but guess that local fonts are the future. In general, GDPR…

Good advice. Thanks!

Thanks. Then I'll go for the cheaper one :)

Thanks for clarifying.

Haha alright :D I understand the Cat 8 shields a bit better against outward interference than the Cat 5e, so for a long distance of 20 meters that's probably better :) @Falzo do you know anything about those fancy cables?
-
Wondering whether I should just buy a 20meter LAN cable to connect the second pc in bedroom to the internet. Will I notice a big difference in between a 20m Cat 5e and Cat 8 cable?
-
It basically sounds like an acquisition even though they call it "partnering".
-
Yeah, that's GDPR for you. Then again, I wouldn't complain if more themes allowed for self-hosting Google fonts right off the bat. Ofc, for theme devs it could be annoying because with cdn fonts you can quickly try things out, which is taking longer when you want to add local fonts. The way my plugin works, it should be…

I'm not quite sure if they allow for sub domain branding but as long as you can publicly share your knowledge base you should be able to link to it. Maybe helpkit.so (see comments below) is even better for the purpose.
-
I probably would prefer a custom solution. Notion may be a good fit :) https://www.notion.so/blog/how-to-build-a-knowledge-management-system

That's awesome! Glad you were able to offer @skorupion an opportunity and, even better, an environment to grow in :) You probably remember from when I told you how I got into tech a while ago when we had a longer chat, but I also started selling (game-)servers and hosting services as a teenager :D Heck, I surely sold…

I can imagine :D Even with little money, life can be enjoyed. As students we certainly can't spend that much either :P Sounds like you guys had a great and memorable time back then! Those kinda memories are the best :P Noted! Better to get the better one straight away (even if saving longer for it) than buying cheap and…

The KISS principle, I see :D Thanks for the good wishes, mate!

@skorupion is a really cool guy and is always looking to help :) Was just on a call with him and he seems very motivated to get a job and to improve his skills. Maybe someone has a position for this guy or just a way to gather more experience :)
