@Ympker and @flips PHP 8.0 Works fine on MyW and HostMantis cPanel. Same plugins -everything the same. Cloned on cPanel, and did a full migration to MyW.pt. 1-to-1 copy. I did try renaming plugin directories in order to disable them without accessing the WP backend. Didn't help with the usual suspects. I did not disable…

The error I get with Cloudflare proxy enabled: Error 524 Ray ID: 6b30e3e89e4571fa • 2021-11-24 07:24:48 UTC A timeout occurred The error I get with Cloudflare disabled: Request Timeout You can browse the website normally, but if you try to log in (open the wp-login/wp-admin link) it gives that error. The same happens with…

Macrium works if you want to make an image. So all the fine-tuned stuff you used gets back to how it was. As years go buy, I prefer to tune as little as possible and be able to run a fresh install when needed ASAP, to creating images, updating them... I.e. Macrium is not as practical for data/file backup as it is for…

Both cPanel and DirectAdmin. cPanel looks more like a fully finished product, but I did manage to get DirectAdmin to do all I need it to (error logs and logs, in general, are confusing, will open a separate topic on that). So, because of the cPanel pricing policy, I'd rather choose DirectAdmin (prefer to have most of my…

And that's not the best thing about it. It's made in Serbia! :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m8OBCH2zea0

Have you tried Macrium? For data - Backblaze offer backup options.

I've had a bit more downtime than was the case with either HostMantis or Veerotech to name those two (my stats). Not too bad, but I'd pay more for better. The same goes for the support - I'm not 100% sure on that myself. One-man show with a competent top-class sys-admin (MyW.pt), or a 24/7 support with canned responses…

Edited the original post: HostMantis excluded. :)

By using the word "Vesta" on a green forum, you have summoned the BikeGremlin. Apart from questionable dad jokes, it is my duty to mention myVesta CP as a better alternative. https://www.myvestacp.com/ Stable, secure, regularly maintained - but Debian only. Thank you.

It's capitalism. Unless you go with FOSS, you can expect price hikes. Everyone wants to make more money. Better stuff ("stronger" brands) will cost more compared to the less good, and/or less popular alternatives. If a cheap alternative gets good and popular enough, you can bet its price will also go up.

Rounding it all up with a video on how to install WordPress (both "manually," and using Softaculous), along with some basic configuration and security: How to install and configure WordPress When I find the time, I'll see about syncing the videos to my native (depending on the interest), and making short versions, showing…

It's been fixed today (or last night). The solution (until they sorted it out) was to use Cloudfalre DNS. A friend's site was "caught" so Cloudflare (or any other DNS for that matter) was what it took to solve that. Edit: It's amazing how people "losing XXXXXXX $ each day" didn't migrate their sites. How much could a…

Rounding up the infrastructure setup. After having registered domain & configured nameservers, set up a hosting account and configured Cloudflare DNS, it's time to sort out the emails. I've opted for a hosted email service, because that makes any website migrations easier, and the email infrastructure isn't relying on the…

Many of my videos start with me being in a mechanics suit... but don't finish as happily as the videos by the likes of Brazzers & Co. This series is even less "dynamic," but I hope this will help at least someone. :) The next video is on: Securing and configuring a shared/reseller web hosting account Long, boring, tedious…

A guy who once saw a guy who once held a NVMe told me that heat is also a thing to consider. Performance drops (along with longevity) with extra heat. Depending on the motherboard (where the port is placed), housing, and drive's heat-pipes (if they are mounted) you can have better, or not so good performance, regardless of…

I'm stupid, lazy and broke, so I'd go with the (probably the most expensive) Samsung. :) From what I could gather, their NVMe drives are as reliable as their SSDs (had a lot of experience with those). Life's too short to worry about crappy hardware. And it ends up being more costly in the long run.

That link's not working - it points to this forum.

Well, they all look a lot like Slack, yes. :) Mattermost gives you a free self-hosted option?
-
Not much - but all those monthly fees add up. I try to avoid them when possible. Still making do with the free version. ...Maybe I should just stop being poor, didn't think of that before! :)
-
How much does Clockify charge for being able to do that? (using the free version and I just bill monthly :) )
-
I've been using Clockify for some time now - and it's quite good (my first go-to for time tracking and billing). Thought this is worth checking out - so far so good. :)
-
That's ubercool! :) Love it.

Yup. Arduino is a lot more affordable: https://www.arduino.cc/
