My experience has been the same too. I have services from other providers that bench much higher but are never consistent, but HH has been super consistent for the last 3 years I've been with them.
-
Never mind, I figured it out. I had to use lvm commands to reduce the root volume and then created a new volume for backup storage. I then mounted this volume to a mount point and used this path to add as data store. Everything is working smoothly now.

@cyagon I just installed PBS on a VPS with a single 3TB disk and it looks like it used all of it to install the OS. How does one split out the disk so it can be used for backup storage?
-
What is even your end game with this? Please give up at this point.

Latest linux kernel has lot of optimizations for the zen architecture which greatly improves performance in some cases. Proxmox being an enterprise product is still on the LTS kernel that doesn't have any of these updates. Its a trade off between performance and stability.
-
Not in my case. I keep checking often and it hasn't improved. Stays at 5-6 MB/s.
-
Yeah, I plan to do the same too. He is not using Ceph and is using local storage instead. He said max speed he got on bare metal was 500MB/s which is why I think the speeds won't improve. I didn't know how many people he has on a node but I think it's atleast 30 or more. Forget 10gbps, even 100 Mbps is not possible with…
-
@yorkchou I asked @cociu and he says it will get resolved in a few days once people are done migrating data, but I'm not positive that'll happen.
-
I don't see this on my node. I'm on bucnvmestor1. But I do have an issue with my second drive's performance though. I'm getting 5MB/s max reads/writes.

Seems to be under a DDOS attack.

You did pay to get the footer removed right?

Mobirise is far from free. They say free but all the themes except the default one have to be purchased. Also, when using their web forms, they route the data through their relay service, so your site visitor data is being captured by them. I've also found that it is quite restrictive, like you cant have a video background…
-
@cociu It's been almost 2 weeks since the order was placed. Can you give us an update on the provisioning?
-
Yes. Raising a ticket now.
-
Has anyone been able to get wireguard working on their VPS? I've been trying but it doesn't seem to work and I think it is because there is no UDP port forwarding support on them, since I only see the TCP option when using the Domain Forwarding setting. @Abdullah Am I doing something wrong or is this expected behavior?
-
First of all, they dont even have the spec I need. Like 32GB with 4 cores is the max they have. On top of that they charge $240 for this spec, which is insane considering I can find much lower pricing for my required config at OneProvider, HostUS, GreenCloudVPS and even OVH.
-
If I want to maintain the hardware, then I can just deploy it locally. Colo would actually make my problems worse. Too expensive and low specced For everyone suggesting a dedi, why do you think its better than a dedicated VPS like netcup's root server offering. With a dedi I'd also have to manage the node which itself will…
-
Yeah, I'm looking at Singapore and HK. Not sure if there are any other locations in APAC with cheaper hosting. Hoping to get a few offers from providers here.
-
This is an RDS based setup so every user shares the same VPS. But you are right about finding a high spec VPS like this. Maybe a dedi is the only option since my plan is to extend to 128GB of RAM.
-
@Abdullah Thanks for the quick provisioning. Also, passwords in plaintext is a big no no. Please don't save unencrypted passwords anywhere.
-
Is there a script to debloat the base template? I know there is one to convert it to alpine but I don't want to switch from ubuntu.
-
Has anyone got theirs provisioned yet? Post YABS if you can.
-
Sure, will do.
-
Thanks for the great offer @cociu . Hopefully network peering to my country is good.
-
Unfortunately, I'm located in a country where it's pretty hard to find these servers are a low price and have no choice but to make thoe most of the M4 Is it possible to do the same thing but by using only 2 NICs? Like have the VMs share a single port for LAN and use 1 NIC for WAN
-
I already have an x3250 M4 and it has two NICs. My issue is more that the server is too powerful for using it only as a firewall, so I want to run another VM on it to fully utilize it's power.
-
@AnthonySmith Is it possible to get all 3 servers bundled in just one location? i.e combine the specs into a single vps
