+1 for Amazon SES. I've been using them to send 10K+ emails a month to a double opt-in list and deliverability has been great. Open rates are even better than I was using Mailchimp, for a fraction of the price.

Veracrypt has a portable version which I store in the same cloud storage as the encrypted drive, so it gets backed up too. Thus decrypting 20 years later should be simple. I would be concerned if an app required any external dependencies like a network call to decrypt.

I've come across a few complaints from lifetime pCloud users saying their accounts were closed due to having copyrighted content, which the users denied having. I have no idea if it's accurate or not, but it made me hesitate. I too have a lifetime Koofr membership and have thought about adding lifetime pCloud, but I think…

I still use Veracrypt, but have been thinking about switching to Cryptomator. I tried Cryptomator a few weeks ago and it worked well, but for some reason I prefer Veracrypt. Probably just familiarity and stability, since I've been using it (or TrueCrypt) for years without issues. As I understand it, one of the big selling…

+1 to RSS all the things. I too use FreshRSS and try to centralize as much as I can, but I've not found a good solution for RSS feeds that require a login other than basic auth, which works perfectly in FreshRSS.

I've heard good things about it from people who use it but I don't have firsthand experience.

It's really nice to see this sort of concern for the wellbeing of the folks dealing with this. It's easy to point fingers at what they could have done differently (I started thinking that way myself at first), but this must be an incredibly stressful time for all of the admins working to restore what they can.

Same here. The monthly price is far more reasonable if you're willing to go with the 5-year plan. They're having a flash sale right now that works out to $2.11/month. I've been using Standard Notes as my primary notes solution (switched from Google Keep) since early 2019 and I have a few minor complaints, but overall it's…

I've been using them for several months with no downtime according to Hetrixtools monitoring. Speedy hardware is nice too.

BuyVM slices are tor-friendly with unlimited bandwidth. I'm not sure what their port speed is though.

I don't know if it would have helped in the long run, but their plans seemed to offer too much for free. I'm sad to see them have to shut down.

Just a note that the readme states it is alpha software.

I upgraded to 5.5 and haven't had any issues.

Thanks for sharing. I've been testing Runcloud, Ploi, Moss.sh and Cleaver and this looks like a great alternative. Where'd you find it?

+1 for duplicacy (backing up to Wasabi). I also create a daily rclone snapshot to BackBlaze B2 for redundancy.

Aegis is open source and has a straightforward backup option. https://github.com/beemdevelopment/Aegis
