If this is like the Oakleys aquisition of WebPros, things will be getting even worse for EIG customers! Sadly I have a few web design customers that don't want to change things if it already works, so I'll see first-hand how things change....

I just signed up earlier today, and I was placed on OVZ6.

Just ordered, and I am shocked - default installation is Centos 6???? And for Ubuntu, the latest version they have is 16.04!!! Not even 18.04 when the world is moving to 20.04....

Looking though, there are many differences that make my brain hurt. E.g. there are these session variables: $_SESSION['userpassSession'] $_SESSION['EmailIdSession'] So, do the devs want to capitalize the first letter? Even file names are weird, as some have hyphens between words, and others didn't. And words are misspelled…

:# Can't stop laughing, sorry.

Any location: 1 vCPU 756 MB RAM (plus 256MB for every TB of storage) 1 TB transfer per every TB of storage Any amount of storage, under $2/TB/month NAT IPv4 accepted E.g. 1 vCPU 2 GB RAM 5 TB bandwidth 5 TB storage $10 Obviously the price/TB is quite low, but pretty much any storage amount will work. So if you have extra…

I believe Oakleys wanted to exit quite some time ago. I think growth is stagnating, so now, they triple per-account prices to show revenue growth so their pitch deck and cap tables looks better...

Just out of curiosity, what was the provider?

Find someone on Upwork :) https://www.upwork.com/cat/developers/ Fiverr probably would work too
-
Thanks! Sent them a message. Kinda weird though because the "Contact Us" button on the homepage doesn't work, so I had to email them. Doesn't exactly inspire confidence, but let's see...

Preferably North America where I can ship cheaply :)

I believe you can edit /etc/pve/qemu-server/xxx.conf (E.g. 100 or whatever your VM ID is) and manually include the disk name of the disk used in another machine. Don't know, though. Apologies if I mislead you. Just an idea that I have never tested.

Has it been taken yet?

Ah, thanks! I misunderstood the email then. @AnthonySmith can you change the thread title?
-
How so?

In our capitalist society, NVIDIA will produce as many GPUs as people are willing to buy. Miners are willing to buy until it becomes unprofitable (increasing block difficulty), so no, mining will eventually become like how it currently is. That would be very nice for me :) - at FluidStack, we were sold out of all consumer…

Community, as it comes with everything I need.

I am. It is amazing. Best UI/UX in my opinion, and it just "works"
-
Thanks for the work! :)

Honestly, this place is far better than said predecessor site, and for that, I am forever thankful :) For moderation, I don't see trolls or spam accounts, so that is handled very well. Not much work is needed in my opinion.

OVH at BHS?

@poisson thanks for the insight! Very cool :) One would think DCs connected to local IXes would make it cheaper, so that's very interesting.
-
Ah, thanks for the insight! Does that mean that bandwidth is cheaper for you when you get your data from NA or Europe rather than to a SG storage machine?

Token: 6eaf-189d-bec8-efe0 Thanks so much!

Personally, never. Sometimes, I run into weird code errors, so I always use KVM to isolate those issues.
-
Thanks @seriesn ! Now just waiting on the storage nodes to get to there, Utah, and London :)

Doesn't DA qualify as a near equal competitor? I run my servers on Virtualmin, and people come from cPanel saying it's so much better - just sadly not enough people know about it.
-
Just realized! Great catch. Oracle also has something like that.
