@martijnk thanks! Very nice info. No network storage for now so 1 gbps should be enough but will definitely consider 40gbps for future-proofing! Thanks!

PM'd! Really interested although not sure about the sustainability of such a loss leader for them, so I'd want to work out something where I at least pay for HE's costs so they, at a minimum, break even.

A YABS of a Shadow.tech server. With bankruptcy proceedings four days away, I thought I might post one from Shadow.tech ( https://talk.lowendspirit.com/discussion/comment/44320/#Comment_44320) Redacted certain specs, but: * No CPU contention * Great CPU, surprised they use Xeon * Variety of disk speeds, but overall it's OK * Surprised at the network…

Wait what? Can you elaborate? I don't fully understand. So these are for GPU servers, some quotes are for 30a 208v (5 kW after 80% rule) and some are 4x 30a 208v (20 kW after 80% rule). But hey, I might be able to share some resources for you to play around with :) HE's quotes have been quite expensive tbh for high power…

Pure business talk from a sales team with zero technical details. Clearly they are targeting a CXO who hears "SaaS," "easy-to-use," "fast," and "security"

Ashburn, ashburn, asburn! (I used to always provision public cloud instances there given I heard it was very popular from others too) But now I realize zero LE providers have services there, so now I use Los Angeles (good asia)/New York (closer to me)/Europe (Hetzner, OVH, etc with great costs)
-
@rainvnc I think you can create a ticket to raise your quota

Interesting, nice :)

I started off with playing with drag-and-drop web builders, then built web apps deployed on managed services (like Heroku). Only recently have I worked on the OS level as well. Web: Weebly/Wix (2015) VPS: Azure (2018) Dedi: Kimsufi (2019)

Muchas gracias! Very insightful, totally understand.

Key points that I got: * 1 column of posts given there are few new posts every week, so multiple columns would show the same info more than once to a frequent viewer * Change the menu to match the forum's menu. Literally exactly the same so navigating between becomes easier. * Downscale the menu image because it looks…

Very fast! Nice alternative to the existing one.

Hey, man Don't take everything as an insult, go spend some time outside or with your family, don't obsess over arguing online :)

All it seems to me is like a CloudFlare alternative with cheaper pricing and more difficulty setting up... also only 35 PoPs. Can someone remind me why to switch to bunny and pay money? Other than the argument that CF is an evil company (which I slightly disagree with, just see their free services to elections and…

If you look at the value generation though, even at the highest tier, the new WHMCS is only like $1k/month. Hiring a dev costs many multiples of that, so I guess this highlights the value generation created by WHMCS. Even for something like Blesta, they are charging like $15/month for something that generates like…

I think the main concern should be that there might be a second price hike like cPanel...

Who is this developer? Why ISPConfig when everyone is using direct admin?

Who are you, and what is your experience in the industry?

@Kaffekopp first https://talk.lowendspirit.com/profile/RaveX https://talk.lowendspirit.com/profile/Lufi Guy was organizing pump and dumps and stuff outside LES and trying to organize people to do bad stuff. So when you came along with your first post after signing up soon offering free stuff like what that previous garbage…

*actually son of Anton now. Anton died on the road to Stanford right before Richard was getting assaulted by Dan Melcher. (for those of you who don't know, you are missing out. Watch Silicon Valley ASAP. If you don't have HBO, watch some clips on YouTube).

Can you include an invite? But in general, having to have a team wait up and halt development on new software until stock frees up, even if it's just a few hours, is just a huge PITA. I'm hesitant to host anything that might scale on BuyVM if the situation doesn't improve... (just want what happened to LU slabs to all…
-
@Francisco kinda unrelated from the thread, but all services are sold out right now. You compare BuyVM to AWS/DO, but if I can't be sure I can get more VMs when I need to, I can't really "trust" BuyVM as my cloud provider... Are you doing anything to address the lack of slices in all locations?
-
Maybe use a few more bucks per month to save worrying about your provider...
