It's called Ethereum, and it's only for idle mining when others aren't renting the machines :) Mining is an inherently low margin business (lower electric + cheaper labor wins), and I wanna be a billionaire, so ML/rendering is the priority bc I can get the high margins (if you need consumer GPUs in Boston, Chicago, or…

So AMD and NVIDIA both have chip shortages (TSMC I assume, while Intel has their own fabs), I have a pallet that's two quarters late.
-
@cociu In your email, you state the maximum deposit is 3,000 euros, yet there seems to be a 1,500 euro limit:

Another codydoby attack or another 12-year-old! Seriously though, they must have found the server behind CF...
-
RIP me.

Money sent, awaiting boss man @seriesn In any case, consider this thread closed :)
-
Happy to pay the full $70. PM'd

ikr, ppl will patent random APIs  screw Oracle...

This is really interesting: https://www.netlify.com/blog/2019/05/16/wayfx-deploys-lightning-fast-headless-wordpress-to-netlify You can pipe Wordpress into a static site and host on Netlify/CF pages
-
This has been a feature request for literally years now because of: Next: Again, same thing. I don't imagine most devs have worked at a hosting company before, they don't really know I think.
-
One other possibility, Hugo. You can use a theme, or create your own (I can help), and you use it to generate a static site. Serve using CloudFlare pages, and it'll be fast everywhere without a single PHP server handling all WP requests. Not to mention, the scripting nature of WP means that it's a bit more unsafe.
-
From @cociu (def is him! Esp that tanks part :lol )
-
Yeap, the nature of all of this is that migrations are super easy, so those deploy to Netlify buttons all over Github, forms, proprietary workers, etc are designed to ground you down in Netlfiy, and I'm sure CF will do the same
-
Interesting, I clicked on it a few weeks ago and could only add my email to the waitlist after an application :) Everything is about ease of use. With smth like Hugo (that's what I'm using here, a site that I built these past two days to learn Jamstack), I run hugo server --host 0.0.0.0 to render all of the files and test,…
-
I assume so many ppl are using it that you are basically waiting for an open server. I assumed they were doing a rolling release given the email list (would have been much better, esp given it's a beta), but they p much just launched to everyone at the same time.
-
Yeap, seems like quite a few ppl work for Inmotion Hosting, that wouldn't happen w/o reasonable compensation lol
-
CloudFlare pages seems to build very slowly, each of my builds has at least 2 mins of waiting to "Initializing Build Environment." Netlify is 16 seconds on the other hand :)
-
@ehab Based on your picture, I think you have issues too (this is a joke, apologies for my crude sense of humor, if you find this offensive I'm v sorry)
-
That's insane haha. Appaz we have already have like 25 applicants, 5 of whom are over qualified, so at least I hope that won't happen here :)
-
No idea yet, things change v quickly, but if you're in the EU, I think you should apply (e.g. one manager has been living in France)
-
Lollolloolloollo. No, only sisters. Bring a sister to work  .

hahahha, if we count the price I'm paying at DCs, I'm at like $0.25/kWh. Was seriously considering renting a warehouse, running a Cogent line and cutting my cost to $0.12/kWh but the main challenge is finding GPUs right now. Btw -- mining is profitable even though I'm paying 5x what I was crypto mining professionally. Then…
-
Oh, I was referring to their business practices. They've always been the most congested but cheapest. Here's a really interesting article from 10 years ago: https://www.forbes.com/forbes/2008/1013/064.html?sh=491435e02622 Thought their business practices improved (buy up a competitor, then sue their creditors for letting…

Thanks for the clarification, no way that I need 10gbps haha but I was just curious. 2 GB RAM + 2 CPU + 50gb NVMe is amazing for the price, then combined with the 3.6TB hdd, it's an amazing deal but sadly I'm too busy dealing with my own GPU servers right now :(
-
Oh, Cogent is actually p good then, and Telia's pricing impresses me, thought they'd be like 2x Cogent's pricing, at least in US it seems so
-
Can you please clarify? you have 1gbps dedicated but can use 10gbps (but will be limited to your 1gbps if you abuse)? Or is it a server has 10gbps, which you can burst up to, but will be limited if you abuse that?
-
Lol, esp if that is what was you actually sent hahhahha. Thanks for the perspective though, I have been working on a deal with them so good to keep in mind if they are that sensitive (I assume they kept the money). I assume Telia was much more expensive than Cogent though (and has better connectivity within EU :) )...
-
Just out of curiosity, why not Cogent (thought you had smth on the way)?
-
Is the difference b/w Bench Monster and YABS basically Geekbench V4 vs V5 and iperf vs speedtest.net?
-
If you need another person, count me in
-
You marketed this better than actual HostHatch!
-
No, like DO app platform, DO spaces (instead of S3), DO managed dbs, and their Droplets! DO has a lot, actually :)
-
Hello, welcome! I don't really want to put my info online so I can't reciprocate your introduction, but just wanted to say hello and thanks for the personal touch. Really admire the work you do, esp with YABS. <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 Feels much more like a community when we know the mods :)

Cool new logo and website! Was different from just yesterday!
