PFsense and Opnsense with CARP is being used in production for a lot of projects I work on. Saying that you won't go wrong with either of them UI is much better these days. And both community will respond better and quicker than paid support unless you pay six figures.

Some of it can be done with https://mmonit.com but I highly suggest http://brooklyn.apache.org Fair warning it has steep learning curve

I use the the Python's http.server countless times, As it is always there even in the hardened systems no need to install anything very distro out there has python.

Bearmon + https://ifttt.com/voip_calls is the setup I currently recommend but these can be applied with any service with email or webhook support works most of the time and I have also setup IFTTT to call my telegram so even if the voip fail s telegram will stay up. I have also have a setup independent of IFTTT which uses…

IMO go with a server from server.it which costs less than 2$ a month for the specs it provides (1Core / 2GB RAM/ 20GB SSD) if you plan to use a CDN like cloudflare or BunnyCDN. But if you prefer a Indian location go with AWS Lightsail (1Core/ 512M RAM/ 20 GB SSD) which is 3.50 a month. but I would strongly recommend you to…

Well its great as my team is distributed even before COVID and They provide almost everything with Zoho One. My one years software licensing budget can pay about 7 to 8 years of Zoho one subscription. And as everything is in "cloud" I save more headache and stress managing backup's and things. Now I just export my data…

I have been using the 5/yr package from the day it was launched and till date no issues. And I had a 15/yr package in the VestaCP server (Galaxy) which is cancelled now because of going with Zoho one. But have to say the service is top shelf considering all the exchange and mail servers I deal with on daily basis.

@vish take this and run if you need a reliable host. If you don't need the server look into this https://www.scaleway.com/en/c14-cold-storage/ but the caveat is when you wanna download you have to pay a certain amount for each GB's transfer out cost If you don't care about the host's reliability and don't need the server…

I have mostly used Apache Jmeter but realistically as the infra is flexible I just use auto-scaling in the professional settings. Cron based scaling in infra where autoscaling is unavailable in likes of DO, Vultr, Linode and Hetzner. For the cron based setting I usually try to see the max peak load as that have easy to do.…

@Neoon For now its running a vpn in a few days time, I'm going to move one of my PHP uptime scripts there as I don't have one in Asia. I have to say even though it is in beta the network & responsiveness is amazing with this LXC. I have production machine in JP with Vultr and Linode even they are lagging behind. It could…

Yep good luck with that. I never needed to track visitor for my RC instance due to being its only used for my team, I just restricted signup from our domains email ID so that takes care of that.

Good one Ant, Useful for sharing this link to my friends who would need idiot proof hand holding.

Yep, Use full for what I'm trying to do with NAT VM's in general running a one file status page which checks all the servers and services I need to monitor and displays in a page. Also for some reason the my LXC JP is faster than my VM on Vultrs network so looking forward to it.

Got one thanks for sharing.

Nope. It all depends upon the receiving server.

I usually use the docker version of Imapsync but this would work if you need GUI https://imapsync.lamiral.info/X/
