@verjin you are "in count " As lucky OG member #526, your total odds to win are approximately 1 / 600 + 1 / 700 + 1 / 800 + 1 / 900 + 1 / 999 or about 1/155 :smile:

we're now at 600+ signups so it's time to do another random selection :smile: the sha256 hash from the contributed digits: afb52feddaf080f980f1fbf7688f0a8df8ca0dbaecfb6e32a554006dbdc8bff7 @FAT32 - I'd like to use the randomizer and seed you setup earlier, but now prepending these user-contributed moar random bits…

I always learn something from these threads Black Friday is ovah but Christmas is coming up - a year is such a long time to wait for @liteserver to drop a sweet deal .... I wonder if @Ishaq might could break off a little something something in NL Otherwise that $20 512 MB BuyVM slice in LU really does seem hard to beat…
-
@SpeedBus thanks for the rundown - IMO one of the better options when reliability is a priority @vyas lol I am no stress when I put some system to the test @LetMeBeSad - for network in NL there is of course also the most excellent @liteserver - with options for NVMe (not cheap, they do have nice discounts on Black Friday)

I have a 4 GB KVM from CrownCloud in Los Angeles - geekbench from about 5 months ago is decent https://browser.geekbench.com/v4/cpu/14262365 - nothing too crazy but more than sufficient for my application. This node is an E5-2650 @ 2.6 GHz - possibly they have something else in Amsterdam. I like to suggest CrownCloud for…

hello @LetMeBeSad and welcome to LES! I enjoy reading a spirited request so am appreciating this one. I suspect you will get good suggestions and discussion here. My own experience with a few solid hosts in the EU leads me to recommend as a gold standard for comparison CrownCloud (@SpeedBus ), who have been in business for…

hello @refik - okay, I see - the requirement for DirectAdmin license limits the options you might otherwise have since relatively fewer EU hosts have negotiated the internal licenses that allow them to offer discounted pricing for DA. If you have clients involved then I wouls agree reliability is a priority as well. It…

Lolol ... Moar crosspostigs: recognizing that quantity can be a quality all of its own in parallel with the critical mass of interest and experience on LET, and whatever else makes it worthwhile to keep checking in here - a very cozy little corner of the internet to discover so - it's also very cool to see some echo of…

such evocative imagery lol :smiley: @Solaire - I suppose without having access to the accounting ledgers we might still constrain our estimations / educated guesswork a bit based on: Length of time acquiring customers Number of IP addresses (for VPS plans, less useful to estimate shared hosting though) What else ...?

Welcome @HostYD :)

@mrtilde - have you applied for a "Registered Troll" tag yet? :trollface:
-
hello @refik - check IntoVPS - they might actually almost get close to your budget if not quite the requested specs, taking into account the 40% discount offered for new DC in Cluj (RO) - and with free DirectAdmin https://intovps.com/plans.html EDIT: though of course you may have to adjust your expectations and/or pay the…

ah ah ah ah Imma start the guesstimation game 25 "hosts" 100 customers per host $10 scammed from each customer would total $25,000 ... doesn't really seem worth it to me, but I'm more about the long game I suppose bump up the number of customers per host by a factor of 10 or so and then it starts to get more interesting

I must say, it does warm the cockles of my warped and cynical heart to see a few seeds of thoughful analysis beginning to sprout in this discussion. but riddle me this, uptime: what is the scale of the scam? Any guesses as to the number of punters taken, and the total dollar amounts (let's say, over the course of a year -…
