XFCE or LXQT. Minimal install. Have spent way too many hours installing full blown versions and then uninstalling stuff I know would not use. Had tried one of the early betas and don’t even remember getting excited . I salute the folks and Distrowatch and other sites who do this day after day, distro after distro

Deal Aggregators- Stacksocial, Appsumo, etc... charge as much as 75-90 % commission, depending on the price of the LT plan. The gain for the (typically) SAAS company is PR, and as @mikho mentioned, the end goal is to show a larger base of paying customers to investors. Look at Invideo for example:…

Show me your Appsumo list and I will show you mine :-)

Degoo has a bad rep because of the crypto mining or some other shit they run (or used to run) in the free 100 gb account. Paid plans might be a different story. They have been on Stacksocial for quite some time now, that might be my other concern- not finding enough paid subscribers

There is one good lifetime cloud storage deal I missed out on - pCloud with Crypto- when it was under 90 US Dollars or so. Glad to see they still exist, sad that I missed out. We used a few lifetime storage deals over the years (seven at the last count). The reason is Earlier we used to allow narrators and editors to use…

Lol thanks @deepak_leb I guess it got a little out of hand, length wise. Had to split the post into two companion posts (Updated the Intro section with the other posts) @Abdullah sometime next month I might give Arvancloud a try from Bengaluru, so may not see much difference ...

@Anon Yes the 13 euro offer for storage was a good one. I think last month there was a 25 percent add on bonus as well..

@sanvit Rclone is a great idea, of course three years ago I had not even heard of it :-) That opens up many more options including yes Nextcloud.

On iOS I use the PCloud App, to store the images/ videos/ screenshots. Then copy them to Rethink. The only problem is sometimes the images get stored as HIEF which many applications do not recognize. There use to be another service I used int he past to link different cloud services...multcloud. I am glad they moved to a…

Are you sure that is the right link? The 512 MB RAM option is 6 euros a quarter, in which currency does that work out to $14 per year? (since your original budget was $12)

Over at the stock market and economy in general it was Red Friday .today.

Edit: As @angstrom would say Congratulations on your first post. Other than special deals, There was one provider whose pricing could have been in line with your expectations. But look up the search function to Find out how their business turned out. You might want to bump Up your budget by atleast 50 percent. As an end…

For those looking at El Cheapo Storage: As a paying customer, have mixed feeling about this. I found the upload speeds to be good, download takes time - it is cold storage after all. What I did not like was their change in T & C: Had a lifetime plan, which the almost reneged on. But hey, 5 TB for one year at $ 16 is hard…

Congratulations on your first post in this thread. :-)

I consider Lifetime deal as 3 to 5 years, bulk of them towards the 3 year mark. Less heartache if the timeline is kept in mind.. and agree with @lee there Edit: totalled up the numbers from past 3 years- * Lifetime Deals purchased : 45 * Median time since purchase: 14 months * Median price paid : US $ 55 * Number gone bust…
