Typically, I configure two resolvers. * one IPv4 and one IPv6, unless the server is single stack and the other protocol is tunneled * different providers, typically Google and Cloudflare; in case one of these has high latency, Quad9 or HE or Neustar may be substituted

I used to have X11vnc on Ubuntu desktop, so that it can be controlled remotely from my tablet. * Local terminal and VNC clients can see the same display, and control the same cursor and keyboard. * Initial login must be performed locally with monitor and keyboard, and then you can start X11vnc within the desktop…

There are no cookies on my website. We only serve biscuits. Any leftovers are caused by Google Analytics. <?phpheader($_SERVER["SERVER_PROTOCOL"] . " 402 push-ups required");header("Set-Biscuit: gdpr=ignored");?>

I see FranTech IP. They are known to have Tor exits that are used to send DDoS attacks. You need to unfran your network and cancel the idle VPS. I see one packet being broadcast to 255.255.255.255, so you would normally receive it. For the others, something is wrong on the host node, which causes your KVM to receive…

tcpdump & Wireshark can show you what traffic it is.

https://my.webhorizon.in/plugin/support_manager/knowledgebase/view/3/nat-ipv4-ports-calculator-ovz-lxc/ This port forwarding option in Virtualizor is only used in KVM NAT service, which has been discontinued. Maybe @Abdullah forgot to disable it?

I have microLXC deployed in New Zealand, and I have my own node in Antarctica. I'm gonna setup some message passing program, so that every message would travel a loop around the world. That's a true scenic route. When would @deank open up his luna location?

China doesn't have legal drinking age. Anyone who can afford beer can drink beer. You just cannot drive after drinking, or you go to jail even if you are the most famous actor. My father used to work for a beer factory, and he receives 120 bottles per year. 72 bottles are given to relatives. For the remaining 48 bottles,…

My NAT bundle has five locations: upstream provider location IATA codeZappie Host Valdivia, Chile ZALShock Hosting Piscataway, NJ, USA EWRReadyDedis Mumbai, India BOMHostHatch Zurich, Switzerland ZRHZappie Host Johannesburg, South Africa JNB I did ping (10 packets) and iperf3 (UDP) between these locations over IPv6: source…

Things are so cheap in Sweden. Colo a full-size Mac would cost significantly more that $15.50 per year in North America.

There's no benefit in having more RAM channels on regular VPS. The provider's throttling kills all the performance. I want some dedi with more RAM channels, because my high performance networking software could be memory bottlenecked. I recently learned about Intel VTune Analyzer, which could confirm the hypothesis (on…

This was written for Debian 10. In Debian 11, the apt install line must also include ifupdown. Otherwise, you'll lose access as soon as you get to apt autoremove line. Sadly, OpenVZ7 depends on this deprecated package… In Debian 10, ifupdown was a dependency of resolvconf so I didn't write it explicitly; in Debian 11, the…

I bought the NAT bundle, reinstalled all nodes with Debian 11. I noticed that all five containers have the same SSH host key, which means the host key was included in the template. This is not good because it allows MITM attack. The template should not contain any SSH host key. SSH server will automatically generate host…

yoursunny.com has been running on PHP 8.0 since early 2021. In the past, I upgrade right away as soon as the binary package is available, followed by code fixes. Nowadays, I wait a month or two, to avoid potential issues with the small number of Composer dependencies that I use. WordPress, WHMCS, psst… AVOID. Shared…

I thought about this more. The TXT record isn't necessary. Instead, the proxy service can check for AAAA record to determine which container owns the hostname, and then send the traffic into this container. Push further, it isn't necessary to run any API call altogether. Instead, * Whenever the proxy service receives a…

How do you authenticate that the requesting user actually own the domain? Many existing NAT providers would allow any user to claim any domain, if it hasn't been claimed by another user. This enables a malicious user to claim a domain they do not own. It would cause damage if the true owner also signs up for your service…

Do you have IPv6 and IPv9?

I have seen two video clips so far. @vyas may want to buy the $15/year 1GB KVM in Poland, payable in push-ups

I took the last spot in Switzerland. If you really want, send me 4 push-ups, and then I'll request a move to Poland/Netherlands so that you can have Switzerland.

This is a hardware problem then. You need to install more RAM per CPU core. Major cloud provider offers "high CPU" and "high RAM" models. Basically, you have a "balanced" or "high CPU' model but you actually need a "high RAM" model.

A bundle would be given a new prefix, and does not count toward the normal hostnames. I already did so for Oracle Cloud. Great, order 61a67f3383dc3. Please confirm that you agree to the locations in the above list. Let me know and I'll submit payment. Does "credit card" or PayPal cost less for you? I can use either, as…

How to choose bundle locations? I want one in each continent: * New York * Switzerland * Chile * South Africa * India

The actively used portion of your database should fit in RAM. If it cannot fit in the RAM of a single server, you have an architectural problem, not a hardware problem. The solution is to design it as a distributed system. Read the Hadoop papers and you'll see the idea.

All my important files on laptop or phones are in either Seafile or Dropbox sync'ed folders. Seafile server has daily rclone backup to storage server. Photos and push-up videos are in an HDD attached to home router. It also has daily rclone backup to storage server.

WebHorizon 1GB Warsaw In the previous benchmark from 2020-04-01, the CPU was AMD EPYC Processor (with IBPB), 1 @ 3393.620 MHz. I notice that the CPU has changed, so I retake the benchmark. How old is the data being overwritten? If most overwritten data is from the last few hours, you don't need to commit these data to disk at all. Instead, write them into DRAM or Optane DIMM, and then commit to disk when the data is unlikely to be changing.
