This.. and this.. (Though I prefer things to be posted rather than shipped, as it takes too long by sea. ;) )

American "biscuits" : yuk! Kinda like scones but not. :s

^ ..more likely some tracking crap added to the device, after doing the "serious" SM stuff. There was a time when it was indoctrinated to keep business and pleasure on separate devices. :| Perhaps even the ISP - I know Talktalk (an AOHell company ) tracks where you go, for example - I've witnessed it first hand.

Thus proving social networking is a misnomer. Facebook -> ASBO!

Follow up: Well, mySQL version was successful, though preconfiguring php extensions didn't work and phpmyadmin still won't open in DA.

Looking for a spot of guidance. At the moment, I'm using directadmin as the backend on one test server, with Ubuntu 20.04 (yuk!). For my charity work, I need to have a specific set of software installed - it has been a bit of a nightmare to get a working solution due to a lack of distinct documentation. I require mySQL…

@DA_Mark A wee bit of frustration.. I decided to utilise my shutdown Inception VPS for further trials on the charity site that I'm working on. I raised a Ticket with IH earlier on, for the licence activation. It was late in the working day, so no expectation of any reply until at least tomorrow. A few hours later, I…

I've been fine tuning reserved space for quite a while - works wonders on those lowend servers. ;) Backup (local) partitions in particular don't need reserved space.
-
Just to be clear (as the point appears to have flown overhead); I do not advocate the use of fake/false addresses - that is not what I suggested, in the slightest.
-
Re: address. AFAIK, it's a legal thing in the UK for businesses to show address details but not private individuals.
-
..and people wonder why I only include a partial address during signups. :anguished:

Thank you @Mr_Tom for your kind gesture. Previous "encounters" meant.. Thank you @seriesn who once again stepped up to the plate, with a very generous provision. Given the assistance that the charity offers, I hope that none of us requires that type of help and that we continue in good health. There's always hope. This…

^ You're awake! :-D

@Mason, @mikho Houston, looks like we got a problem! The thanks button: FALSE ALARM: Adblocker Ultimate borked it. :3

Just FYI, I've been running CSF (iptables) fine on Proxmox nodes, for years (once setup with rules) and don't use the supplied Proxmox firewall at all.

Is Ashburn the USA? /sarcasm

My 4 self-hosted NC installations are encrypted server-side. As @nullnothere mentions for encryption at rest - when the servers eventually get decommissioned it gives a little peace-of-mind. I haven't put anything confidential on Novos, so no big loss and I was unlikely to do so anyway. There's an option to remove legacy…

@Neoon I have the Scaleway/Online 1.99€ one too. ;) Never managed to grab the OneProvider (steal) deals so far.

Self installed/manage in USA: Letbox

LMFTFY ;) ((Where's the ban hammer?))

I use a OnePovider server in France, for my PBS Intel Atom C2350 - 1.7 GHz - 2 core(s) 4GB - DDR3 1x 1TB (HDD SATA) Bandwidth Unmetered @ 1Gbps Recurring Amount $8.33 USD (though probably a special deal.) It works well enough. :)

How easy would it be to offer Horde in DA? I find it much better at grouping emails by subject (for deletion) and prefer it over Roundcube.
-
Would be rude not to grab one - so got the smallest, to idle/turn off until needed. :) (Hope that you're feeling much better @Ant) (( @InceptionHosting I assume that I can't stack this onto an existing server, to bring it up to 6GB RAM etc. ))

Catch-22. Redis requires a lot of RAM to get any real benefit, IME. I removed it from my NVMe setup, as it was making a negligible performance improvement but swallowed up RAM. MySQL cache can make substantial improvements and easily offset losing redis, though your mileage may vary. Likewise, memcache can substantially…
-
I would appear that 8GB RAM will suffice, for now, especially if you do tuning. You should also monitor I/O though, to ensure the server isn't disc bound, if using SAS.
-
Ain't that the truth. ;)
-
^ Well, sorry that's a crap Windoze luser viewpoint. Linux memory usage is entirely different and 8GB will very likely be sufficient. For some reason your (munin?) graph isn't showing committed RAM, which is a better indicator but your in RAM apps usage will likely shrink, with less available RAM. Swap (not the evil that…

How can it possibly be light? Composer & symfony. :anguished:

Though I hate markdown, the natural pairing of TinyCP and PicoCMS is super lightweight - minimal bloat.

Eminem? :o
