For non-sensitive stuff, I like http://ix.io/

Was leaning toward that doing some of my own research but just wanted to see what others had come up with, mostly out of curiosity/experiences... I'll give that a whirl :)

Token: bcbc16fcbc93554d795a6b96ecf3035502343793 I plan to use my requested NanoKVM instance to test various low-end game server configurations. These game servers have very low bandwidth and system requirements so I am confident they should not negatively impact other tenants on my node. Thank you for offering this service!
-
Reprise Hosting, drServer (if they have any more in stock), ReliableSite, or Dacentec with their KVM over IP on demand are your best bet then. Either that or increase your budget, or look into really cheap blade server/1U colo. Good luck!
-
Oh-hohoho. I have SO MANY jokes to make. Count me in on this.
-
Virtono? Virt. O no!
-
Dacentec has affordable Dedis and offers free KVM over IP upon request for up to 12 hours at a time. However they use Lantronics KVM Spiders, not very good. Some of their dedis do have native IP KVM but being the servers are very outdated they often require running a very old copy of Firefox with Java for the Remote…

I would recommend Yourls. It would work well. Just make sure to monitor it like a hawk. I ran a instance for a week with a Captcha and about 50% of my links were for used for spamming, so I would not recommend leaving it open to the public.

I mean, if you're a business that provides internet infrastructure of some kind, I think it's beneficial. Plus then you could also effectively have a "local mirror" of sorts that your users can point to, and have it not count against their bandwidth consumption, and they get to download packages super fast. Not everyone…

+1 for Debian Also for my RPM friends, perhaps also mirror OpenSUSE and Fedora? System Rescue CD would be nice to have mirrored as well. I think a good rule of thumb is if you're using/offer a FOSS piece of software in your business, you should mirror it for them just as a kind token gesture. Just my two cents though.

I fail to see the point of the .new domains that are longer than the original domains themselves...
-
A shame they had to kill the free plan, but understandable. Thankfully that micro plan is pretty affordable, all things considered.

The only pieces of network gear I have at home is my WatchGuard Firebox M300 firewall and Aruba S2500-24P switch. Everything else is all desktop form factor. So for now I just use industrial shelving. My internet at home is kind of mediocre for hosting anything at home so anything here is either too expensive to justify…

I used to use Wunderlist until MS bought them out. Now I just run my own self-hosted private DokuWiki. It lives alongside notes, my home network information, and anything else like web links I want to get back to, etc. Works enough for me. If I need time-based reminders I do timed alarms on my phone, too.

Nice.

Imagine actually turning on Secure Boot when running anything other than Windows on your system. LOL.
-
+1 for separate domain registrars and email providers. I'm using Namecheap for my domains and Smallweb for my emails, since I needed web hosting too. For $3/yr. it's been perfect for my needs (I keep a tidy inbox and send very little email).
-
I really appreciate their transparency with the RCA. Kudos to their staff and engineers.

@Neoon Here's what it looks like for me. I know, it's ugly but this PC is super low end and needs all the performance help it can get.
-
Yeah I clicked through and it made a lot more sense. Curse me for running a older laptop without font smoothing, I guess. LOL.

That's really generous offering 128/256GB of disk space... I would have expected closer to say, 1.28GB or 2.56GB... if you want to be cute about it. Not that I'm complaining though... :) Hopefully once my account has aged here enough I'll apply for one. Thank you for offering this up!
-
Oh god I really don't need another one but it's so cheap... stop tempting meeeeee

I'm happy with Thunderbird, does what I need. On Android I'm using K9 Mail, but I'm having some issues with consistently getting mail from my mobile device, seems to be some issue with K9 getting its sync stuck. But if I go in and force-refresh it, it works better for a while.

+! for Twilio. They make it super simple and the pricing is very reasonable. I like them.
