Yes, that’s an option thanks, does negate needing a billing and automation solution for LES though.
-
Will have a look, cheers!

This thread is bing closed, the updates will now only be published here: https://talk.lowendspirit.com/registered-providers this can be accessed via the link at the side or the wiki link at the top.

Sorry :( not a lot I can do about that, at least it is not a functional change.
-
yep, that can do the trick however I would suggest that if you need to edit the network config, you probably should not be cheeping out on OpenVZ anyway.
-
Maarten was actually a good guy, he was dealing with LES and LEB at its peak though and put is heart and soul into the place so may have got a bit touchy at times when ultimately the shit was not caused by him but he took the shit for it.
-
Thanks for the post @Not_Oles sorry it took a while to make live!
-
Thanks, yes, it will take a while and good people like you to help get that info on the site, I am seemingly incapable of keeping all of these things in my head these days :) good job I am making a directory eh!
-
if anyone has any scripts or configs they use and want to share that would be great, I am not talking about self-made software suites but more like backups scirpts, one liners to do xyz, nginx/mysqld conf's etc etc
-
nope, at least not directly, I can't afford the time to moderate the spam and dead stuff. That was what I was hoping, but the place is only a year old I can live with the 'hit' I guess the only way I can think of right now is to make a wiki contributions category when it gets approval I will take the content and push it…

Well, I don't think it is the right format to have the actual guides in but it will be great to link to them when they are written :)

Just general is fine
-
yep thats fine.

December: Cloudflare: $41.20 WHMCS: $19.14 Runcloud: $15 Runcloud Backups: $10 (approx as a variable) Staging server: $2.50 VPS: I host it but it would be €5 So technically, LES is hosted on a <$7 server it is everything surrounding it that costs the extra and truthfully, they are not all necessary, just convenient and I…

Yep, will do that after breakfast, I have been up 2 hours already and not managed to eat yet :) Trade secrets I am afraid :) but seriously, its not a platform, it is something I came up with myself then had it improved upon by a hired dev and it is VERY basic but a work in progress. adblock/ublock etc will not block images…

I did not touch anything, I have just woke up :)
-
I honestly don’t remember who, I won’t click on LET links if possible so if it was, yes and thanks for the mental push :)
-
It just sped things up and seemed to optimise routing for people generally, there was a thread whereby I gave notice then turned it on, people certainly felt the difference, except for Neoon, cloudflare deliberately slow things down for him :)
-
Its all valid feedback though, the last thing I wanted to do was to end up hosting LES on an expensive infrastructure because.. well that defeats the point of the place to some degree. I have thrown this place up in quick time with not honestly not much consideration, its only on a 2GB VPS at the end of the day which is…

yes :)
-
That is the most polite description of him I think I have ever heard.
-
2GB ones dropped from around 15€/y. Its January. Brilliant. Yes. Great, I am not doing the work on the staging server though It is someone else not local. Needed, no, convenient? yes. I don't want the bottom of the bottom barrel servers, they almost always come with issues that result in time being sucked away. You seem to…
-
And this @VpsFlow is your first lesson in very carefully considering your policy from day 1 because if people can abuse a shared resource environment they will :) it only takes 5% of your customers to ruin the experience for the other 95% price wise you messed up your poll so I am not sure answering it will help but if my…

questions/observations: * Show me a good quality 2GB VPS for €15/ year * Show me a backup server that is €10 /year that also includes hourly snapshots and individual file management/restores as well as full webstack+site migration/restore. * Show me a VPS that comes with a FREE WHMCS license. * You forget the staging…

look at the F keys!
-
that keyboard gives me anxiety.
-
You can ask :) Runcloud Pro Runcloud backups Paid Cloudflare (paid) Proportional VPS cost WHMCS license for the advertising system. Staging VPS with another host Might actually be closer to $80
-
tbh, if I found out bear was even registered here I would probably ban him for being a twonk of the highest order.
-
Not as standard in vanilla but will look into it, might be super mods that have that access only.
-
Yeah, I may actually also disable x-forward for IP's anyway, then everyone is just Cloudflare (won't be much use if I move off Cloudflare I guess) Thanks to @bikegremlin who sent me a suggestion which was not a million miles away from the discussion we had around this just over a year ago now regarding the mod role. I…
-
The only real thing personally driving me towards having a mod atm is that I am worried that I miss something, like for example this hostdoc clown trying to come back, my finger is not on that pulse at all. Admin wise, I would expect them to be driving things forward to enhance the community, not just sitting idle with an…
-
Yes perhaps a better way to put it would be that I don't feel I am the best person to lead or direct the community, sounds a bit authoritarian but not intended too, I will likely keep a hand in administering things from the back as a fail-safe. Sure I can do that. May be possible, I did discuss it with my accountant and…

Well it was a good break over Christmas and new year I got to properly relax and for the first year ever without any sort of incident, it is the time of year I look forward too not because I am an elf or anything but because it is the only time of the year I get to semi switch off, being a small company owner and operator…
