I don't think I have ever heard of a police server pull without a warrant, you might want to check they are actually police, I suspect even in Romania the police may have broken some laws by doing this and probably owe you some compensation.

I was only joking :) If I did ever do that I would have them all go to 1 dedicated thread and pretend a warning on each one. But I won’t do it anyway, It’s a shitty thing to do.

More bewildered.

It’s just a fact of life, they are doing it and have invested fortunes in the ability to accurately detect that type of traffic. This point in time is fairly unique, maybe they have relaxed it but one thing is for sure, UK isps oversell residential dsl lines worse that cvps oversells openvz containers. They have to slow…

I would not say AMD has taken over the server industry at all, the market share vs intel is tiny. I do expect it to happen but it will probably be another 5 years or so until super micro, dell, hp etc start to actually design chassis’s and platforms around AMD. If AMD were to release a CPU with servers in mind with a price…

Yep, and they keep the commercial customers happy by restricting the residential ones.

So what I am hearing is, if I set up a LET feed to show the offers here, no one will go there. thanks :)
-
Nice one, looking forward to seeing the results.

Interesting, I have never seen that site before, I have to question the results somewhat, for no good reason though, just does not 'feel' like that is likely to be accurate. I have had an idea for a while now but never got around to typing it up here, I will murder it in short form as it seems to fit. I was thinking of…

I absolutely agree with you, but this way I can essentially set and forget and it works well for 99% of the people 99% of the time with no extra effort from me. If this is what I did all day then sure, I would change all of that and do it myself, but you know its kind of like that developer meme that went something like:…

you can, but all they will say is that it is packet deprioritisation due to the volume and blame the number of people working from home because of covid. ISP's in the UK at least do the following for 'residential' connections When things are busy, ICMP starts to be dropped, then the start to drop VPN/proxy traffic (they…

Oh good point, Dallas was shut down around 4? Years ago and moved to Phoenix.
-
You kind of gave yourself a clue when writing that no? It is losing packets somewhere in Europe? probably does not impact TCP either, just ICMP. Do an MTR you will probably find the likely source. It should be noted that the IPv6 is just an he.net tunnel.

I don't get the benefits of using it. Better routing, better compression, delivers pages faster, an additional layer of DDOS protection, an additional layer of security, railgun+argo. Sure I could achieve some of that myself, but this is not what I do, I prefer to pay to have it taken care of so that I can focus on what I…

Alternatives that provide the same advantages? (I pay for CF)

I am gauging interest from providers in the background atm.
