I would like to say hong king is a joke based on British ownership, but it was just a typo

I felt 64k would be more representative of real world workload, but now I type that, I have no rational behind it so I will do some further reading. I am not looking for maximum performance, I am looking for real work load performance or as close as I can get when benchmarking.

https://lowendspirit.com/pq-hosting-moldova-netherlands-russia-latvia-ukraine-and-hong-kong-unmetered-bw This contains the sort of benchmarks I was referring to, I tried to get a real world view of what performance I could actually expect rather than a point in time snapshot of performance.

plenty of ideas from this post: https://talk.lowendspirit.com/discussion/comment/31893/#Comment_31893 forward :)
-
@willie yes all good ideas, what I need when you settle on one is for you to PM me with a plan/idea which covers what the entry point is to follow what you plan to write i.e. what level of experience is required and what level you expect people to be at once they have finished, this is all about removing barriers to entry…

Working out the finder details and the art of the possible atm. Not 100 sure when or if I will, it’s proving difficult to get firm prices for custom configs which I obviously need.
-
@willie I think Perl from nothing to something sounds better it is a lot more interactive with the opportunity for the community to ask questions and dictate where the next parts go. The issue with nextcloud is that there already exists 100 guides on installing and configuring it and it’s a very copy paste process and does…
-
@willie everyone has a rate, I don’t want to take anyones work for granted so what it is worth to you is what it is worth, I would need to judge that and justify the cost/benefit. The idea is is not to teach someone that knows Perl how to do something in Perl though, it is to take a starting point of I can login to a VPS…
-
@willie initially my own pocket until I start charging for ads, they are free right now, everything is negotiable, ultimately if I can pay what you ask and see value I will go ahead.

I just had a google report in, the forum has had 97 clicks via google from people searching for "hotlineservers" and this post was the most popular clickthrough :)
-
Excellent write up, thank you for spending time on this!
-
I won't close this thread this time I will just set it to sink.

@bikegremlin that does not narrow much down, they bomb somewhere every 3 months.
-
Checking them all over the coming week.
-
yep fair point, I will have a think about some top levels.
-
ok, well start with MySQLTuner and combine that with observing mytop over a few hours, that should show you what specifically is causing the issue, it may be a plugin that needs to be rewritten. The bottom line here though is your website wants to use about 30GB ram (which is insane) You posted the output from the tuner…
-
Then if you don’t want to hire someone to optimise your site you should just get more ram, restrictions will only slow it down further.
-
Well just to be clear then, you are happy for your site to slow down considerably rather than add more resources yes? What I am not clear about here is what the real issue is, just because you see load spikes? does it impact the site? Installing cPanel for just a single site is madness anyway, to be honest.
