Probably 1 of 2 things, they have the port set to Sata 2 or the disk is very old and almost dead, or a mix of both.

You would keep the discount but if you upgrade later you don't get the 25% extra disk just the target package allowance at the time of upgrade.

So I was planning on modding the one I got not to be in parallel however when doing some research it seems I also bought one that regularly catches fire while discharging more than 1A. lucky miss, so i am just going to buy a couple of TOMO's and be done with it.
