JetBackup is very demanding without backup jobs.
-
I might just go VPS and use something like Updraft so I don't have any more issues like this to worry about...
-
Not had any issues with support. I get the reason for limiting backup jobs, if many are using it and running multiple jobs it will of course impact the server performance, but they need to let everyone know up-front not just start deleting jobs.
-
@HostMantis - can you clarify what is happening?
-
Huh? They provide the option for the reseller to take their own backups and place them offsite on your own storage, it's not about storing backup jobs on their platform. This is now an issue for me if they are limiting the number of jobs. Not had any email about it though. I can still create new jobs.

Good to hear and thanks for confirming. Like I say, good service so wouldn't have made me move.

For me, it's just about consistency. I want to see a site show me they care enough about the look to also care enough about the content. I look a lot at trends and focus. My previous comment reflects what I read. That is first impressions determine whether a first-time visitor will even stay long enough regardless of how…
-
Far more judge the appearance of a site as important when first visiting than those that don't. Attracting new members is best achieved by giving them a reason to stay longer. Some don't mind, but, if I was visiting this site for the 1st time I wouldn't stay based on the 1st version of the new blog at least. It's better…

Oh really, didn't know. My approach on the OGF is to insult, misquote and generally stir the pot, just because. Paying attention to what is actually being posted is too hard for me over there.
-
You don't need to change it. Just saying that it is obvious what/who you are. Nothing wrong with it.
-
Your username and profile pic gives it away surely :)
-
Although it appears you have already started to advertise.
-
And just to add another kick. Use images that are properly sized in the blog posts, looks so bad with those blurry images on most posts.
-
Well, yes, I agree. but with so many WP folk on here I am sure that can be fixed :)
-
Who downvoted you? @Mason? Get rid of him. Dead weight.

Being critical for a moment - Find a new identity that is not simply a copy of LET.
-
Puts their hand up, but only to say I saw it. Not doing anything about it :) Also, Blocksy?
-
If this was a poll, I would agree.

People have less tolerance for new things in the hosting industry these days. Especially when it comes to control panels and having to learn a new one. Sure, techies may but what does an end-user really want generally speaking? Familiarity. Not something new.
-
People will gravitate to what they know, cPanel/DA. ApisCP may be an interesting alternative to you but you need to ask yourself what your audience wants. Don't be quirky just because, it won't get you that far. If your target audience is LE* then you may get a few 'supporter' purchases, wider market with ApisCP, no chance…
-
To be honest why not. Offer people a 'supporters' title, access to a private forum, no ads and other perks that won't cost you anything and I suspect quite a few would sign up to it just to support the place. It will end up paying hosting costs if nothing else.
-
If you can't charge for it, take it off them.
-
Initially read "Early next week there will be a charge made.."
-
I would say so, I personally don't want to be spending time optimizing images then uploading them. If there is a plugin that manages it well, even it means a few $'s then I am all for it :)
-
So I tried out ShortPixel, threw them a $10 one-off recharge and ran a couple of WP Blogs through it. That is after LiteSpeed had already compressed them. The result was a further 20% saving overall with no visible loss of quality. Quite impressed overall with their plugin.
-
But you still bought and are surprised..
-
You can take that attitude somewhere else.
