Few more days of this left for submissions. Here's what I plan on doing -- I'll put up all the submissions on a webpage and number them all. A strawpoll link will be provided for you to choose any logo/banner that you like and deem worthy for YABS. I'll then take the three submissions with the most votes and create a new…

My thoughts - If you ever find yourself actively needing the help of another mod (and don't already have one), then you're late to the game. Get someone on board early, teach them the ropes, outline their expected tasks/duties, hold a community-based election if need be. That way, that someone can be in place so you're not…

Hot off the press... VirMach will continue sponsorship of the FreeMach project! Viva la VirMach! :)

Could be done. But I don't think polls in Vanilla allow you to see who voted for which option (only shows X votes for option A, Y votes for option B, etc.). Just would like to avoid someone creating 30 LES accounts to vote for themselves/skew the poll to win the prize. Not that I think anyone here would do that, but you…

Lots of great design ideas!! Appreciate all the response and submissions so far :) Now I have to figure out what the best way to have everyone vote on their favorite design(s?). Maybe I'll put together a thread with a submission in each comment and the number of 'thanks' will determine the winner. Don't want to be seen as…

Just throwing this out there. How about LibreNMS? There's a tab that allows you to add notes for each device. Then you'd have a central hub to track and monitor resources for all your services and you can set up individual process monitors (i.e. web server, ssh server, plex server, etc.) as you add them to make sure all…

I think we have a winner

We'll see. I'd like to keep the script output pretty streamlined/minimal. Won't be changing the font/color of the text in the output, for instance. But if the ascii is small enough (not an obscene number of lines) then I may consider it
-
Keep in mind y'all, this is for the logo/graphic on the github page, not necessarily for a header in the script output itself :) Adding anything to the script output might be worth a separate discussion.

Yes, it's the same as VirtualBox (all that jazz is running on the server), just with the PHP front end rather than the default GUI. As far as overhead, it'd be pretty much the same as running vanilla VirtualBox with the only addition being PHP and the webserver (apache or nginx) running alongside.

I'd suggest just increasing the "Alert Only After X Minutes Of Downtime" setting. The frequent downtime notifications is probably a result of some network blips on the routes between HetrixTools monitoring servers and your server. Increasing that setting to something like 5 or 10 minutes will likely eliminate the false…

I've never tried this myself, but you should be able to accomplish this using VirtualBox. I use PHPVirtualBox on a headless Linux server at my home for a Windows VM so you should be able to do the same with Android. You use the PHP-powered web interface to create and interact with the VMs. There's VirtualBox images for…

Lots of info/story/background, so here's the best that I can do. Tl;dr Pt 1 Humble Beginnings - Ant, who is working for a big UK defense company and finds himself managing multi-million $ IT projects, is bored and wants to try something new. His interest in VMs began when experimenting with VMWare and loving how much could…

Thanks! I hope it does! After the first year, VirMach has renewed the sponsorship on a year-by-year basis. Current sponsorship period covers through 18 Jan 2021. Thank you, my friend!

Good write up! Will keep this in mind if I ever snag a cheap IPv6 only VPS. Unfortunately, I found my free EUServ IPv6 VPS to be literally useless. Not sure if it was just the node I was on or something, but it was hair-pulling slow. Reinstall took upwards of 3 or 4 hours. Apt update/upgrade took nearly an hour. Sometimes…

Ya, I have absolutely zero BSD experience. It's been requested before, but I have yet to find the time to evaluate BSD compatibility. And when I looked last, bash wasn't even included in vanilla BSD installs, so taking a look at compatibility for other shells (i.e. tcsh) would be the first step. One day maybe, but it…

My home rig in the office. Also connected over WiFi bridge to main router (really wish my home had wired ethernet, but so far the bridges work fine). YABS ran using Ubuntu WSL. A bit surprised it completed without a hitch on WSL -- # ## ## ## ## ## ## ## ## ## ## ## ## ## ## ## ## ## ## Yet-Another-Bench-Script ##…

From https://github.com/rocky-linux/rocky @Clouvider @SpryServers_Tab, curious how you guys are supporting Rocky. Providing servers for builds/mirrors or something of that sort?
