While technically true, this would certainly not being in the spirit of what that category is for. Might be possible, but I don't think we'd want to detract too much from the bread and butter $7 or less offers. Maybe a happy medium would be to add a category with way relaxed pricing rules, but wouldn't be listed on the…

That is very intentional. The current iteration of LES was a fork or clone or whatever you want to call it of LET. Designed to be very similar with essentially the same rules, same forum software, same target audience, but without all the ColoCrossing/Biloh-endorsed scams and cash grabs. I get that opening the door to…

I mean... that's the entire point of LE*. Otherwise we'd just be WebHostingSpirit instead of LowEndSpirit

Yep, $0.0001 per message. So $20 for 200k, $50 for 500k, etc.

Coupon says recurring when you add it, so safe to assume it's recurring for as long as you keep the service. The "rest of 2022" bit just means the coupon codes are valid until the end of the year.

Believe it or not, straight to jail

Nothing I've seen here is "racist". Unless I'm mistaken, he's not charging people from a certain country more for his services... he's just charging people who attempt to circumvent the defined transfer process and abuse the system an extra fee for doing so. They fucked around and now they're finding out. Simply observing…

Seems like the OP got the "asshole tax". I get it and I'm all for it for times like these. Execution could take a little work (i.e. $5 invoice must be paid by next renewal or something else) rather than suspending services so soon, but it's not like this type of thing happens frequently from what I can tell. Plus the OP…

Ahh yes, the famous, premium, VEST Anti-DDoS technology! Was renting a dedi with them to use as a Plex server a few years back. Was using GDrive as storage at the time and every scan for new media would trigger their "protection" and null route my IP for 24 hours. Graphs they had showed network traffic at like 5 Gbps…

Appreciate everyone in this thread (and in my PMs) willing to take on this role and expressing support for others. Wonderful community we've got here and we have you all to thank for that. Thanks for sticking with us throughout the years. We hope the team we are putting together will bring some fresh life to this place and…

Yeah, I was never a fan of hiding behind an anonymous mod account. I understand Ant's reasoning for doing that -- preventing targeted abuse/harassment which was surprisingly common on OGF, at least during my tenure. But I think for transparency sake, all actions should be able to be traced back to the moderator that did it.
-
To anyone "nominated", please indicate you'd be willing to take on the role if you'd like to be considered. Thanks all :) Very surprised by all the interest so far. Didn't realize that LES was also a congregation of masochists! Appreciate all the support
-
Also before anyone asks: I have no issues if someone interested in this is also a mod over on OGF. I trust whoever we bring on to keep the best interests of each community in mind.
-
<3 thank you! Will leave this open for a little while to let others get a chance to express interest. Didn't have any plans for a selection process if multiple people are interested, so I'll just make it up as we go. Stay tuned :)

Title updated as I don't really think this constitutes a "scam". But I do wish you luck with getting your service migrated to Ryzen. Some things slip through the cracks, but from what I've seen, it'll eventually work itself out in the end.

+1 for VDS

They should have stuck with the classic, "soon™"

Probably related to this even though it's a couple of days old:

I'm in the same mindset for using CF here on LES. No way in hell I'm pointing the site directly at the VM. Incidents like this are a small price to pay for DDoS protection and CDN especially when I'm literally not paying a dime for it and any alternative would significantly increase our monthly operating costs (which at…

Surprising, right? Figured he woulda been Killary'd by now for dicking around in the 2016 election and jerking off Donny Jr.
-
Possibly. @skorupion - aside from sysadmin type stuff, how's your coding chops? Any PHP or web development experience? May have some development work that could be done on the site that we could pass your way. I think @willie was suggesting that maybe there's some sysadmin opportunities for nanokvm/microlxc that he could…

Looks like one can still sign up for the Flex Pay as you Go, but you have to sign up for the foundation trial and then downgrade before the trial ends. https://twitter.com/Mail_Gun/status/1501585412753661958?s=20&t=q8OZaaYktZ8E2A3FaVqMzw I have one of these accounts as well for some personal stuff and always stay under the…

No excuses. Also I demand an SLA and refunds for extended outages, I accept XMR and DOGE. A detailed RFO report needs to also be produced for any outages > 5 minutes. Kthxbai

We switched LES outgoing emails to Amazon SES a good while ago and haven't had any issues with deliverability (at least, nothing reported to me directly in the past year). Just set up all the goodies (spf, dkim, dmarc) and you should be good. Only pain point in the whole process was getting "permission" to use our SES sub…
