  • same feelings. Thanks for letting us know, removed my adblock settings for that section. Also I appreciate that google analytics is removed too. I hope it doesn't come back. I would also like the twitter widget & google font to be gone, but maybe other people need it.
  • WP sites can still take advantage of fastcgi_cache so blog pages are cached on webserver as html and incoming requests don't even go to php, they are served from cache. That should (kinda) please the static crowd.
  • in personal life: nothing. I make phone call/sms to contact with people I know. (Thanks mom) For work: Whatever my team uses.
  • I know you are talking in LES context, but in general, this is the reason I want mastodon to be bit more used. Today's internet is too much centralized and that creates information blackhole (with other shenanigans). Everyone should take ownership of their content. But yes, LES is niche enough, lets not divide it up more.
  • It has encryption by default, but it's slower. sshfs is really the most no-nonsense working solution I've used. It saved my ass for years at work where my team deploys using pen-drive (actually not, but ftp is the same thing, right?) and overwrite each others changes like their salary depends on it.
  • I wouldn't say it's abandoned. I would say dev is taking a break (may be a long one). I am totally happy with current state of uMatrix, I don't require any new feature from it,…
  • If you want to block more than ads, try umatrix. It gives you much more control over which connection and resource to allow. My mobile internet is still in 2000 era, so disabling all the third party resources for eye candy reasons lets me browse the internet in saner way. Let me take this opportunity to tell you that how…
  • The challenge is, who will fight the battle? and, none of them are that much stable to use in server env. (correct me if I am wrong)
  • To me, it is too early to take a decision. CL is another company, but I am curious with their "we will make our build system & tools opensource" promise. If it is done correctly, even other fork can take advantage of it. Cross-contribution can definitely improve both side. A win-win situation. Yes, Rocky linux will be…
  • Partly misleading, Greg Kurtzer didn't sell CentOS to RH, he left before the deal. source: https://gmkurtzer.github.io/ source: https://blog.centos.org/2019/03/greg-kurtzer-centos-founder/
  • Its already way past midnight :( May the fittest person get the deal.
  • Going to bed, somebody wake me up if any worthy "black thing" appears.
