Happy Birthday mate :) Have a good one! Good luck with your new company!

Hey there mate. I bought the 1TB Koofr Lifetime Deal on Stacksocial about a year (or 1,5 years?) ago. Since then I have moved about ~260GB there. I have two Koofr Folders synced to my Laptop at all times, so yeah, using it daily. Also really happy with the performance which is near stellar which is not that surprising,…

I have them on Koofr/GDrive. Easy enough to sort, move & manage.

Ah, fair enough. Thanks for sharing regardless. Definitely helps to show that with CDNs and good optimization can go a long way and location does not matter as much anymore. Time to sign back up on GenHost(dot)in for 500GB reseller jk. Should still pick performant hosting :)
-
If you were to use a good cdn like Bunny for big media files and a good shared hosting provider I doubt there'll be that much of a difference. Make sure your website is optimized, too. So, if you like UK Shared Hosting more, go for it. Oh, wait. Was that more of a rhethorical question and you actually posted the answer in…

LSCache, PasswordProtected (before goinf live, or in maintenance mode), ShortPixel for Image Optimization, SecurityNinja (free version, only on first install to further secure the wp install, then deactivate and/or uninstall), Qubely (for Gutenberg Blocks, works with Blocksy), depending on Hosting provider: UpdraftPlus.…

Send me the details mate :)

Sending love from Spain, my dude <3 Hope things will get better soon for you :) No need to encrypt pics of your Bratwurst, though. We prefer decrypted ;)
-
Yeah, I am aware you can send them to a VPS and then to a cloud of your choice, it is just that HM has made me very comfortable with the 1 click backup to GDrive solution :P Thanks for sharing though! Nice write-up.
-
I hear you. Very happy that, with HM reseller I can use cPanel and it has daily backups on JetBackup. Additionaly, I have scheduled weekly/monthly JetBackups remote backups to GDrive. A feature still missing for DA :( @MikePT is also waiting for this as much as I am probably. As for trust, just make sure to pick a…

Especially for WordPress installs just fire up LAMP> @Lee said: Personally, I am super happy with being able to focus 100% on my Websites and leave it to the Shared Hosting/Reseller provider to handle server security and the backend. I am currently with @MikePT at Hetzner's and HostMantis and performance has never been an…

LiveCanvas' "PicoStrap" theme is free, super light-weigth and Bootstrap powered. 531KB in size, super clean & simple. https://picostrap.com/

Just grabbed one! :) Logged in to my Freenom account after a long while. Getting an error code when trying to register a domain. Their KB says anti-abuse and try again in a few days. Will call them tomorrow. If it won't work, I'll have to find a new cheap TLD registrar (for DE I use do.de but for com/net they are not that…

Shuffle is definitely pretty cool (had a look at it a while ago). Did they add the highly requested option to download site as HTML/CSS? I think before it was kinda locked in their project or smth?
-
For what it's worth, I think it offers a lot for free. Lots of free blocks and just the themes and plugins are paid content. @SmallWeb recently used them for their website iirc :) Since Mobirise sites are built with HTML&CSS, you sure can have a video bg that is not vimeo/yt. Just fire up sublime text or you favourite code…
-
Mobirise is a great tool for building static websites and it is free :)
-
@lentro props for helping out one of us in need :) @DianTama all the best, mate! @seriesn props to you, boss ofc, too
-
Yeah, it is super straight-forward. If she needs help there is a Facebook community for it, too :)
-
Glad to hear I could help :) Yeah, it's pretty nice huh? Pro version lifetime or yearly? :)
-
Makes me remember, I need to try GeneratePress some time again. But usability is obviously also a thing. I think for people not so fond of tech stuff Blocksy might be very easy to use. Generatepress is very good, too. Never used Ocean :D
-
Tell her to have a look at Blocksy (free; paid optional, https://creativethemes.com/blocksy/ ) :) Lots of built-in features, super light-weigth and I recently set a friend up with Blocksy. She is also not very technical and loving it :) She is using Qubely Blocks (free) along with it.

What about selling prepaid support hours, then? In the Freelancer/WebDev communities I am in many people do that (me included). One of my main clients usually prepays me 10 hours to manage her website and I keep track via excel notifying them when time's up. Usually, then they will just stock up time again. I don't use any…
