I hear ya mate :D Affinity Designer Review reads: "..has tons of features and equals even Photoshop in many regards.. " Me: "But can I remove background with it? " :D
-
The other 99,99% use cases to remove background? :D
-
Unlimited cPanel account offers are bound to vanish over time.
-
Sure thing mate ;)

AIO WP uses their own format, too. I don't mind this as they are very well known. Backup Guard does indeed seem to tick all the important features , but in the premium version only. As such, it only manages to accumulate 70k installs on its free version making for a lack of "feedback". There may be millions of premium…

Doesn't look bad but seems to be a fairly unknown backup plugin (70k installs on wp plugin marketplace). Also no mention of GDPR compliance in privacy policy. 78$ for unlimited sites doesn't seem tol bad though. Might give the free plan a try first. However, with especially with Backup Plugins I usually like to settle with…

Seems like a lot has changed. I have no active service with them so I can't vouch for anything that is going on right now or might have changed. Just talking about my time there :) I talked on the phone to the owner of MisterHost though, before?! ordering with them back then iirc. We had a longer chat since he is from…

I didn't end up using it much. By then I ended up realizing I am not that much a fan of the big Alpha Master reseller idea. Even though I might have offered reseller with it for a while iirc. When I was with them the old cPanel pricing was still in place, I think. So I really didn't deal much with cPanel acc limits.

I/O isn't the highest after tasting HostMantis to be fair, but for the prices I paid (see invoices), I always got the performance I needed. Clients didn't complain. They are hosting with OVH afaik. Lack of daily backups, higher I/O and some other features of HM made me move away from them, ultimately. Not a problem or…

Back when I used them I had no problems with them. I realize there is some post about them on the OGF atm and while I haven't read everything 100%, it seems like both parties are making things more difficult than they would need to be. As far as my personal experience with them goes, I can recommend their service. 29…

It was back then due to the pricing PR stunt. In terms of performance and reliability and features as well as support they are probably still the best shared hosting provider I have encountered :) Haven't updated this list in a while.
-
That's the oldschool way I used to do. At some point I got convenient with AIO WP though.
-
Happy to help :) About encryption you'd probably best ask the support/sales. I will check next time I use it if I see an option for it. Actually, I have an Erasmus Friend in Belgrad and wanted to visit them after Covid some time. I will happily let you know when I am headed that way :)

Last time I checked (some months ago), yes. As of like october?! I purchased Pro for the sake of convenience and use it ever since.
-
Fair enough. AIO WP usually works with 2-3 clicks. Little hint on how you can give the free version a try regardless your website size. * Backup only the DTB with AIO WP (should be well within the free limit of 128MB?!). * Make a fresh WP Install on target host/domain. * Copy wp-content folder from source to target host…

Hmm, I can't seem to be able to replicate this from my experience. E.g. I made an Updraft Backup on subdomain.mydomain.com , then fresh wp install on customerdomain.com . Installed Updraft Plus there. Uploaded backup. Restored. It worked. That was like 2?! months ago. No idea if they changed smth but for me it went smooth.…
-
Iirc Updraft just prompts you about this when restoring and does it all automatically. Never had to manually change wp config.
-
Updraft Plus free version is usually sufficient for what you are looking to do :) It also supports domain changes or domain <-->subdomain . Granted I have not tried every complex wp setup out there, but for your avg WP site it works. AIO WP I bought the unlimited extension and get access to download the pro plugin. I don't…
-
I usually use AIO WP MIGRATION to migrate wp sites. It works best for migrations imho. Updraft Plus can also do the job reliably ;)
-
To be fair, my drawing is actually not very good. The designs you see, I usually use the likes of Envato Elements, Crello, Placeit, Glorifyapp, or other cool design tools for 90% of it, then adjust/combine if necessary in Affinity Designer :) So your drawing is likely way better than mine ;) Although I am working on some…

So, this was the actual design for my YABS logo without having it printed on a mockup shirt like in my first post: Alternative drafts I built in december but forgot to post include a cute dog a rather simple logo and a wild one : My personal favourite right now is @DianTama approach, though. Fits a bit more the "server"…

If all privacy policies were like that, I might actually read them lol. So beautiful <3 Enjoy it while you can!

I think right now, we don't really need mods. The frequency of events that require mod-reaction is, like you mentioned, not high. Another Admin? That's your call, if you need that extra help. But this one needs to be chosen carefully if at all.

Checked out your plugin list briefly. Saw that you mentioned WordFence. Since we talked about GDPR in the other post this is another plugin you might be wary about if you fall under GDPR. US-based, transmitting data.. IP addresses (also called "personal data" these days) are being saved for a certain duration on WordFence…

As a Web Designer it certainly is all the more. The clients usually don't want to hire a lawyer to do a thorough privacy policy, nor pay for a premium generator and Germany is known to have an army of lawyers sending (even automated?) letters to sue ppl for missing phrases in their privacy policy (even just a few lines, or…

Staging site also worked for me on MyW.
-
I heard lots of good things about BunnyCDN. Not using any CDN right now because most are a nightmare in terms of GDPR compliance.
-
Lolthxkbye. Quite the hike.
-
Ah, fair enough. Well, I mean, if you were to have sufficient funds on your CC/PP in like a month?! I am sure @MikePT might even be able to put the invoice on-hold until then, considering you are one of the rather known and long-standing members of this community. Not saying he will though, but if you ask nicely :)
-
No CC/PP? ? Thing is, at least in Europe you need to be refunded using the same payment method. I can imagine refunding in crypto can be a pita and crypto value may have changed by then, also.

Mike's a bit busy with the baby rn. I'm sure he will reply once he has time :) Is there smth we can help you with, perhaps? I am also on Mike's hosting.
