My pleasure. ;-) I remembered you mentioned again recently when someone asked about virtual desktop or remote coding.

Yep, server has been down for 2 days. No updates. No ticket response. Usually when I get a ticket response it's simply: "It should be working now". Without any explanation why it was down in the first place.

Just received this offer via email: === HostSolutions.ro Special offers - KVM for 12€/year (1€/month!) | 50% Credit Bonus! Today we're launching two special offers that will, hopefully, make your day. To start with, we have a new VPS called LittleKVM that will be up for sale until 11:59PM - 26.06.2020 with the following…

Thank you @Ympker and @vyas for the series. Great write-up! Particularly the in-depth review of some of the pagebuilders.
-
Firewalld works on OVZ 7 because of the newer kernel. I have it running on an Inception Hosting server.
-
Nice to hear. Looking forward to the next offers. ;-)
-
Thank you for the prizes @cociu. I hope you get your personal problems sorted soon.

Nexusbyte @seriesn storage VPS should fit your requirements. They offer services in Germany and are opening in London. https://nexusbytes.com/kvm-storage-vps.html Inception Hosting @AnthonySmith storage VPS may be an option in UK, but it's slightly above your budget. https://clients.inceptionhosting.com/cart.php?gid=31

Congrats @seriesn ! Welcome to the other side of the pond. ;-)

Maybe I'm missing something - I'm not familiar with WEBDAV -, but can't you mount your WEBDAV destination on your bridge VPS and connect via SFTP to the mounted folder? Here is an example on how to mount using DavFS: https://espace.cern.ch/winservices-help/DFS/WebDAV/Pages/UsingDavfsOnOlderLinux.aspx DavFS installation via…

Great work @Ympker and @vyas. Looking forward to the next chapters. I have particular interest in which one would be a better fit to use with alternative CMS's like Grav. Last one I used was FrontPage. ;-P

Amazon offers something similar https://c9.io/

Thank you all for the feedback. Got it as a backup to Ivacy.

How does it compare to Ivacy? I used Ivacy mostly for geo-unlocking or when travelling.

"Colleague announcement. Server down on aisle 5." ;-)

Have a look at their forum. The developers are very active and very receptive to feature requests. Very nice community.

Yes, it's Xen, so I would say it's a better fit if you are looking for an enterprise solution like VMware than a hosting solution (i.e. Solus, Virtualizor, etc) If you are interested Tom Lawrence has some nice videos/tutorials about using XCP-ng as a virtualisation lab:…

That's what I use at my home server, but it's essentially a WebUI for Libvirt. It's very limited but it's useful for the basics like provisioning a VM, stop, start, clone, etc. It has been through some growing pains since the project lost IBM sponsorship. Most developers were from IBM. The only current developer is a…

LetBox gives your server provisioned on a NVMe drive and your storage drive is provided as a raw drive (it's a block storage attached to the VM). You can then partition it and format it as you wish. UltraVPS also provide the OS separated from storage on storage servers. I find it particularly useful because you have your…

I have a similar server in London and Amsterdam. Solid storage servers.

Thank you for the heads up. Do you know how does this restriction work? I've setup separate VLANs on my pfSense to route to VPNs on different countries. Not sure how that would work with a SmartDNS. How do you select your location on this service?

What? I feel cheated

I use bash scripts to run BorgBackup via ssh pushing file backups to backup server.
