When you've collected a few year's worth of deals, the calendar plays a big part. Becomes like a game of chess deciding which to renew and which to risk for an upgrade :)

Mmmm, how will the bot differentiate what is an order number, and what is an invoice? Some posters have just put a number (might be an invoice or order), others have used a variety of formats Order, Order Number, Order # etc.

For the side show: HostHatch Invoice: 217933 (Order no. not used in process) - 2020-11-28 NVMe KVM

I must be going blind, or missing some sarcasm =) Anyway, FYI, ordered one and can confirm the service is configured with 1000GB on the meter.

Don't normally put much stock in benches but yes it doesn't look too healthy. Got my fingers burned interpreting one of these, assume 'Send Speed' is inbound/upload. # ## ## ## ## ## ## ## ## ## ## ## ## ## ## ## ## ## ## Yet-Another-Bench-Script ## v2020-11-20 ## https://github.com/masonr/yet-another-bench-script ## ## ##…

Unusual, I snagged an upgrade from a BF2019 special and thought it best to leave well alone whilst all the neighbours moved in. Noted IPv6 wasn't working at all on KVM10, was going to wait until after CM before reporting, but seems fixed now.

25c735ecfdc3d78f4eef6b42142f34b3 Many thanks for the offer

Doesn't that rather fly in the face (and definition) of a forum? It's not quite how it works, you would encrypt using the [multiple] public keys of the recipients to keep an entire message secret. You would normally only use your private key for encryption when signing (encrypting just a checksum) leaving the original text…

Thanks, just realised @Brueggus had actually answered my query higher up but I didn't spot it. Might give HE another try as a backup, always heard good things about their reliability. Good suggestion on doing LE on another platform altogether.
-
How do you find the AXFR response times, i.e. update delay, these days? When I looked at HE a few years back the AXFR timing seemed very erratic, changes could take ages (10's of minutes) to propagate, making it problematic for DNS based authorisation, e.g. Letsencrypt.

The SSD was an extra €5.00 (€2.50 discounted), only the 16GB SD option was included in the base package. Looks that way, can't order now. Edit: Seems to be back in stock now

I think it's way less than 2 years. Reminds of the time they (as online.net) hiked the prices of their lost-leader dedi boxes by a similar margin back in 2018, they did that in 2 steps just months apart too.

Computer say 'Non'... neither Switzerland or the UK are in the EU :)
-
No proof requested, you just have to assert the EU address you give is yours OR that you're an EU citizen. Don't see the need for a VPN, as EU citizens are entitled no matter where they live. EURid are under instruction to pull .eu domains from UK registered entities when the UK crashes out from its temporary membership…
-
If you're in the EU, or know 'someone' who is ;) , got an e-mail from ICDSoft yesterday to say they're running the EURid promotion again until end of Sept. €10 (+tax) for 10 years for a .eu domain.

Looks useful, like you I'd never heard of it before your post and yet it has debian packages going way back. Thanks. Going to be a bit cramped on my VT220 though =)

I think that vintage of storage server offer was LXC based not OpenVZ, so probably not part of the migration anyway.

Sadly I also don't think there's a way to combine 2FA with public-key logins. Authentication seems either, password only mediated by SSH handled by PAM, public key mediated by SSH handled by SSH, or password/2FA/others combined mediated and handled by PAM. Public key still seems the better option, and more flexible for…

You're always careful to lock your flat door when you go out, but one day you forget. It's comforting to know that the flat complex has a main door with a keypad entry keeping random people out from discovering your door is actually unlocked today.
-
For specific commands in sudoers maybe, for any command, like on a LiveCD NO. It requires too much self discipline in never leaving yourself logged in or a PC session unlocked.
-
Also didn't realise it was still going: 34353638

+1 for public keys ONLY in SSH (ChallengeResponseAuthentication no, PasswordAuthentication no, UsePAM yes) Before firewalling ss -plnt ss -plnu Generally if you're offering a publicly accessible service, e.g. webserver nameserver etc. you open up those ports in your firewall, then the firewall is left protecting you from…

+1 for Aegis, it's simple and does the job well. Rather than fret about losing one device, I restore the Aegis backup onto a couple of home based devices (i.e. tablets) so I have an immediate alternative if I can't be bothered locating the phone when I need a 2FA login. That assumes you're disciplined to only enter new…

Also noting that the current free account already comes with 15 monitors not 10?

Don't forget, one of the design reasons behind the enormous /64 subnet is so that hosts within it can participate in IPv6 without using DHCP or pre-allocated addresses, they can randomly generate a local address with no realistic risk of a clash. By design it's not intended that the address space WITHIN a /64 subnet will…
