taking Avoro Winter Deal 2019 for another spin, seems like it's time to put it back in production. less steal now than before: # ## ## ## ## ## ## ## ## ## ## ## ## ## ## ## ## ## ## Yet-Another-Bench-Script ## v2020-12-29 ## https://github.com/masonr/yet-another-bench-script ## ## ## ## ## ## ## ## ## ## ## ## ## ## ## ##…

redacted sorry wrong thread

anyone has any....bench?
-
would it be possible to have a suggestive list of suitable candidates? Edit: nominate @Mason why: as mentioned level headedness, experience in VPS without being a provider, seasoned campaigner. and also I love YABS
-
what cpu is used in phoenix?
-
$11 looks pretty good since it's really quite dedicated. not all dedicated are the same. comparing Avoro/php-friends their dedicated actually means unlimited, and virmach unless someone has a bench, I believe their vcores aren't full CPU threads. I would safely leave virmach out of this comparison.

I've had their LA VPS for 11months now, CPU is consistent around GB4 2500 single core, 5000 multicore (3vCPU). cached HDD is slow, got migrated to San Jose (suggested Amsterdam as well but seem like hotspot). support is really fast and skilled. seems like whatever history there was, they are really focused on doing it…

the table above allocates one full thread per VM, presumably almost dedicated. if that's the plan and model, all good. or, maybe it is possible to fit in 40VMs with say, 3GB ram. And maybe it's good to make RAID1 as a minimal form of protection? or adding 2 more NVMe to do a RAID10 to add value, speed and space. anyway…

just got onboard, the new nextcloud UI looks good! seems different than what I got from swizzin hope this BRICK will never get bricked!
