I just moved to a better KVM NVMe with more RAM. Had some performance issues with the 512 MB HDD storage node, especially for scanning library and refreshing metadata (plexmediaserver seemingly hung/restarted every now and then). Might be that rclone was the problem. But spinners are also slow. Main difference now is that…

Does it state included traffic? :)
-
I'll give it try :) It failed previously, but that 512 MB vps struggled on some operations ... B) (Did have plenty of slow HDD swap.)
-
For cleaning up metadata, do you just fix the tags in files and rescan the library, or do you delete/move away files, rescan library, fix tags and re-add and then rescan library? (With a much slower VPS, the latter was the only option that seemingly worked.)
-
Have to register/start the order to see included bandwidth? (Or maybe it's hidden because I'm using a mobile web browser.)
-
Should get a bigger audience than with Blocket / Finn ... :)
-
The free version of Netlify is not very performant, regular webhost seems better. (And that's even before I've looked into telling LiteSpeed cache how to cache these static pages.)
-
Hm, I think @nem mentioned in a comment somewhere (HostedTalk, maybe) that low memory and php-fpm wasn't a good fit? That was in the context of ApisCP and web server setup, maybe it's different here? :) (Hope I'm not derailing this thread.)

Sometimes the specs for comparing might be confusing. For example a NexusBytes Ryzen or a Inception Hosting 2276G KVM node with 1 vcpu: I would need 3 or 4 vcpu's to get the same performance with Virmach's flash deals ... So while prices might be premium for lowend, you actually get value for the money. Not to mention…

Wow, thank you! :3 I'm not that used to winning anything ... <3 :star:
-
Oh, really, that's nice! How do you adjust parameters, then? :) (So far I have stopped plexmediaserver, unmounted, fixed the mount script, remounted and restarted plexmediaserver.) Changes are visible, when I add a folder, I can see it on the VPS where it's mounted using ls etc. But it doesn't seem like Plex is notified.…

Thanks! :) And then traffic to 172.16/16 would reach the LAN, the rest be tunneled through the Wireguard connection? Or did I get this backwards or wrong? :D
-
Hm, what would I need to add to the config of a client, to tell it to show everything except 172.16.0.0/16 through the tunnel? I would think the AllowedIPs = 0.0.0.0/0, ::/0 matches the everything, but how to make the exception? ... :#

Maybe some would think/reason that way, I wouldn't. I did miss offers being posted from a couple of hosts here this BF/CM. I really didn't want to dig into LET OGF at all this year. (There was plenty of nice offers here, IMO.) (One link posted here made me curious enough to login over there as well, but it was so noisy, so…

@chocolateshirt What I didn't understand is what a remote control means in this setting ... :# Also, I tried adding dirs as you outline, but Plex didn't seem to pick up/be notified of the change and trigger any partial scan ... B)
-
You might have a point! ;) But maybe there's vital changes in how GDrive and pCloud and Koofr handle things ... (?) Is this on Google Drive/Suite? @chocolateshirt: Found the --rc option mentioned under Non Backend Flags: "Enable the remote control server." ... I do wonder what this means, though. :)
-
First of all: Thanks for great replies! :) :+1: Thanks! I'm thinking nightly scans will not be feasible if it's going to use 150 GB per night for files that doesn't change much. Looking into @chocolateshirt's suggestions on vfs-chunk-size (was already considering those). I wonder why it reads the files multiple times ...…

Wasn't sure if it was mostly technical or mostly off-topic :#
-
Did someone say I'd get a steak for $2 ?!? :p
-
Thanks for sharing ;)
-
Great offers from premium provider! :) (If I didn't already break my budget, I'd get another node.) :#
-
Sort of like Runcloud? Wish I had time to test, which I don't.
-
B) I always wonder if we're considering Mbps vs MB/s correctly :#
-
... or even Inception Hosting ;)

Inception Hosting Order Number: 1720579017
-
Inceprion Hosting Order Number: 4363237477

Premium stuff, benchmark of the 1 GB NVMe. This CPU beats Ryzen, it seems ... :# (Disk is larger, just left some in LVM for later assignment.) Benchmark below: B)
-
For non-storage nodes, bandwidth total=in+out? :)
-
CPU (and i/o) performance seems really good! :)
-
Me too! That's some great performance right there! The CPU and i/o seems to be top notch! B) Bandwidth for these are in+out=total? (For storage only out counts IIRC) :)
-
What's the CPU on the SSD VPS's? (Been very happy with stability with previous VPS here!) :)

This was for my own music files, all perfectly tagged, so it was more an issue of Plex to actually parse/read it. For most of them, you fix it by editing the album, then all pops up. For Jellyfin, I found it was better than Plex for the initial import/parsing, but for some (maybe 40 of 1600) albums it didn't read the…

I do agree that Plex and Plexamp is very nice and polished/pleasant to use. However I find it weird that Plex/PlexAmp lack: * Looping song/album/playlist/queue * Shuffle/un-shuffle running queue (as it's implemented now, shuffling is only for adding stuff to running queue in a random order) Another issue with Plex is that…
