Everything about that sounds odd. The proxmox bridge runs at 10gbps afaik & KVM overheads should be minimal. I'm guessing there is some element of hardware acceleration that is being passed through to LXC but not KVM?
-
Should be pretty fast. Especially if you disable the gdrive download & pull that separately
-
Project was abandoned by author btw
-
Surprised re proxmox panel...that usually comes with quite a bit of admin type control no?

uBlock Privacy badger pihole pihole ends up filtering out a huge amount of crap even after the browser blockers

Someone must be shtting bricks right now It's down globally for anything that requires authentication

Started standardizing everything on debian. Compatible with most ubuntu heavy tutorials but without canonical's bullshit (snap etc)

Well I've got a gigabit fiber line here at home. Would definitely host CPU/storage/mem heavy backend on it, but def nothing public facing lol. One of the major mid tiers announced that recently. Forgot who..ovh I think. I doubt a provider would suspend you for spiking the cpu once a week though?

Disagree with the notion that VPS is more expensive than dedicated. On the face of it sure - on a per core / per unit of resources. ...but that all goes out the window onces sharing kicks in. VPS model allows for significant overcommit...while simultaneously allowing for individual users to occasionally draw not just on…

This interests me too, but more as an academic curiousity than actual plan. (I'm def not touching this). I'd personally sign up for a gig as a service desk at one of the more established shops. Seems like a much safer way of learning a baseline of what it's supposed to look like instead of diving in head first with a wild…

Seems cheap for SG

No VPS. Was hoping to rightsize some idling nexus stuff but that didn't materialize. Got the 2 year protonmail bundle. Linkage? I was looking for a displayport kvm that can do 4k@60hz but it's such a minefield. It's all 4k@30hz

Missed the domain specials by like 20 mins. :(
-
Appears to be valid for 2 months. Pretty good :)

Nice offer. Can't see myself using plex though. tbh I just grab stuff as needed. With fast internet it's basically instant anyway
-
It's a legit thing. Suspect very much a case of you get what you pay....as with everything in this price bracket
-
Hell no. Don't want to be in any of these IoT walled gardens, let alone a distributed mesh of it.
-
Thanks. Think I might grab one then...if I can manage waking up at 6AM. grrr...seriously? 6AM?

Anybody know what those domain names renew at?
