@tetech Any way to assess this beforehand with Cloudflare? Anyway, there is also ClouDNS GeoDNS for $9.95: https://www.cloudns.net/geodns/

That was me on the other site with YABS. Feel free to ask if you want me to run anything else there.

Are they still a privacy nightmare?

To add to what @Harambe wrote, you can try some things to evaluate the VPS provider's network before buying. I will keep it as simple as possible as it seems that you are still learning here, so what I write will be lacking on some aspects. * Try to see if they offer a "test IP" or at least their AS number. Take note of…

It seems that they go even down to $1.25/mo (SSD256 product).

I meant a catch for this post here. But I was not aware that you can add them to a VPS as well. Good to know!> @seriesn said: Then your cheapest one looks to be $4.00/month Aruba Cloud still looks good after their price increase. SpectraIP does not change their price when changing my location for billing. Perhaps they show…

You are right, but they reimburse unused time. Tested on myself. I just forgot how much you have to anticipate them.> @FAT32 said: Do you mean the one-time fee for adding IPs to a dedicated server? If that one, yeah there is a catch then :-)
-
@seriesn do you confirm that the price for the lowest one is $2.37 on a monthly commitment?
-
Yes, with their latest VPSs (and ONLY the VPSs), they do. It is even hourly billed, but in a weird way. You anticipate one month (incorrect, it is 6 months) and get reimbursed pro rated in case you cancel.

The solution of dynamic DNS, like duckdns.org, would be that you would have a domain record, e.g., bikegremlin.duckdns.org, that would point to your home IP, and it would stay updated. That would allow you to host services at home and have a "fixed way" to reach home. I understand that you are looking for the opposite…

Sorry to double post, can't edit mine again. The NL provider was SpectraIP.

Cheapest dedicated IPv4 I could see offered around (monthly payment, regular non promo prices) are with VPSs from: * BuyVM $2.00/month * Nexus Bytes $2.00/month * Netcup 2,69€/month * Hetzner 2,96€/month They are in different locations and with different specs. Depending on the speed you need, you might have to go…

Does not look like a great deal to me, then. They claim that the price is also for existing premium users to "receive future VPN updates", but I would find it hard to spend more than the VPN itself (was like $35 or even less) just to integrate StevenBlack lists or something. They already offer streaming unlocking and…

@Ympker as far as I understand, this is their R.O.B.E.R.T.. or am I missing something? This does not seem to be a standalone DNS like one would do with a Pi-Hole.

Thanks, that is good to know and interesting. Positive to both AXFR and Docker! Just curious, why Wordpress specifically? Too easy to exploit? Good tip, will see how to implement this. Thanks! Yeah, right now I have a TTL of 300 as I was trying things out, but I will definitely raise it excluding a DynDNS entry. To think…
