Used to be a Hackintosher, until one day I decided not to deal with fixing drivers anymore and switched to Linux. Wonder how Hackintosh will move forward after Apple completely switches to ARM.

Better have ipv6 this time?

Are you one of those who wanted Taiwan to be a state of the USA? :p

syncthing. It doesn't do encryption but is pretty much set it and forget it.

Syncthing

That's right.

BGP ok?

In theory, since android x86 offers an iso installer, you can install it on kvm if the host offers custom iso. In practice, I have never tried it myself.

May I suggest incorporating LES into a non-profit organization (the UK equivalent of the US 501(c)3) so that taxes are not deducted for the operation of the forum?

Any machine on any hosts. Don't have to be Hosterlabs.

Either a NAT64 or vpn to a dual stack vps
-
You need a NAT64 gateway. 64:ff9b::8c52:7904 is a NAT64 address. From: https://developers.google.com/speed/public-dns/docs/dns64

So no more Germany @seriesn ?

hmm more connectivity (in a datacenter) and less resource impact? The business owner in the article says people rent dedis just to host a website and most machines are not even utilizing 5% of power most of the time?

didn't they say they peer with CM and CT? or, they did peer with CM and CT... in San Jose, and route traffic to San Jose? wow that's quite a detour.

Why do you need non networking related packages on OpenWRT? It's not like I am going to develop the Next Big Thing(TM) there! For upgrading OpenWRT on x86, all you need to do is download the kernel, place it on /boot/vmlinuz, then manually download and install the kernel.ipk which is just a flag to tell the package manager…

Prem, prem, prem! Hard to find APAC deals outside of Singapore!

I am not sure...

Probably KVM overheads. Even with virtio I am unable to push line speed. I run a few iperf tests to reach that conclusion. Here is what I observed (IIRC): Host to LXC: 20+ Gbps LXC to LXC: 20+ Gbps LXC to KVM: 40+ Mbps (yes M, not G) KVM to KVM: 10-20 Mbps Because OpenWRT's origin on small ARM routers makes it an extremely…

big companies like the ones I receive my paycheck from has a 3-4 year computer cycle. Not sure if it is user habit or IT has loaded tons of stuff into the computer (I am sure it is not hardware), computers tend to become slow near the end of the cycle and everyone is looking forward to new computers.

Adblock function in openwrt

Right. The phones are not made by nokia themselves. Which is why I'm saying they are only good at the infrastructure business.
-
Nokia can expand market share in the infrastructure business, which they are currently best at. but they choose to get into consumer electronics again, more so in a price sensitive market. They can't beat Xiaomi. Period.

Why?

I have been used to debian for my server needs. Recently deployed a few alpine Linux machines, those are prem. Never see a need for CentOS.

back when 512mb is considered beefy for a VPS, back back when it is 'just right' for your desktop. how have times changed.
