I'm too stupid to understand; how and why would that matter?
I took a look at the The Eternal Väinämöinen page a few times in a day to see if the new stream box was announced and noticed the claim #s going up and then down and up later. I wondered if some people would place orders and ask for a refund to push/pull later numbered claims up or down.

Do the numbers go down? I haven't noticed, but I haven't watched that closely. I do expect people are timing orders to try to gain extra months of service.
Consider the following:
💰 Revenue milestones
🎯 €2 000 / month locked in — €1 616 so far → the claim that takes us past €2 000 wins +3 years of service; the 50 claims just before it each win +6 months; and the 50 claims before those each win +3 months
🎯 Claim milestones
🎯 750 claimed — 516 so far → a brand-new StreamBox tier drops; claim #750 wins +3 years, the 25 claims just before it each win +3 months, and claims #726–#749 each win +€10 credit
Both of these would be advantageous to time your order to be within those order number to buy 1 month of service and get 3,6,9 months or even 3 years of service. And assuming you could time it right you could double dip and get 3 months from one milestone and 3 months from the other.

I agree, timing a purchase to gain extra time on months is a win-win for Pulsed Media and the buyer.
Only spent a second at a time to scan for the new seedbox drop, but I did notice a drop of 1-3 claims in between some of my revisits. My comment about potentially gaming it, was not a dig at Pulsed Media, but at potentially a buyer gaming the claim #s using refunds to reposition claims further down the line. I have no evidence that its happening, just felt it was odd that the claim numbers would dip in that pattern near the claim milestones.
Let's use the milestone you mentioned as an example and depending on when the claim #s are frozen from a calculation standpoint, a buyer could pick up boxes at #720 and #751, then ask for a refund for #720 and the previously #751 will now be #750.
It was just a comment, I'm mostly interested in what other kind of boxes will be available.
There's definitely some kind of exploit, when I got my seedbox I'm pretty sure I was #491 (so qualified for the +3 months), but according to the order list now I'm only #478.
edit: and I guess I should add that I didn't seem to receive that +3 months, so whoever was exploiting the system was successfull

Total number shows the active, some people swap boxes, or take the 14day MBG.
Doesn't change the Claim # tho.

Claims are ordered sequentially, and even if they were not that dramatic changes really cannot happen, that would mean 13 were instantly cancelled.
The page only partially auto-updats, so make sure to hit refresh first.
and i guess it's worth it to take a second look into the code (AI is known to conflate things at times ...)

Of course they are, waiting for the right time to order etc.
That's just human nature, everything possible someone will try to game.

I agree that trying to land on a certain claim # or range would be a goal for some people. You have a good approach to market and gain interest.
