This will be the official thread for BF/CM or are we expecting a new one come Thursday/Friday?
+1 for this being the official one.
don't see a reason to add more threads while the whole BF train is speeding up already ;-) it's hard to keep track of everything, so rather use this one and even pin it @mikho@Mason ?
PS:
Done
Bring on the Emma!
thanks mate!
@InceptionHosting sorted this for you. now would you please start posting your offers already? :-P
Give me an hour or so
haha, thanks ;-) someone leaked your URL already...

@InceptionHosting "The promotion code you entered has been applied to your cart but no items qualify for the discount yet - please check the promotion terms" - I'm talking about FRA-SSD-KVM-512, for FRA-SSD-KVM-1024 the code works as expected.

I think promotions, as usual, not for these small configs.

@Daniel said: I've been using Better Uptime for a while (since their last lifetime offer) and their service is really good. I'd recommend it! They've added newer features like DNS and SMTP monitoring, and they have "heartbeat" monitoring for cronjobs (add a curl at the end of your cronjob, and they'll alert you if a heartbeat is not sent within the expected time frame)

This seems good, but is this way better than selfhosted options? Asking this because the price is still too steep for me.

The NL plans are burstable to 10GBit/s, aren't they?
I do really hope the old configs of 35€ for the 3GB and 45€ for the 4GB return tomorrow.

This seems good, but is this way better than selfhosted options? Asking this because the price is still too steep for me.
The issue with self-hosted is that I need to monitor all my VPSes, including the one that's hosting the monitoring app... Otherwise how would I determine that the monitoring system itself is down? Haha
I used to use UptimeRobot's and HetrixTools' free accounts, but I've been manually migrating all the monitors across to Better Uptime.
I do have Netdata on most of the systems (except 128MB and 256MB RAM systems) and scrape all the Netdata data into Prometheus, but I mostly use Netdata for metrics monitoring (low on RAM or disk space, excessive iowait for more than 15 minutes, etc) rather than "is the site up?" monitoring.
