VirMach Tokyo 21.85/USD/y (pre-order).. finally! orz
Network seems to be under somewhat high load, apart from mediocre speeds, ping isn't exactly stable either.. perhaps everyone else is running YABS too right now?
Anyway, it's more than enough for idling
Ubuntu 22.04 installer, loaded via either netboot.xyz or grub loopback, does not work in 1GB RAM.
Hence, I install Ubuntu 20.04 cleanly and then immediately run do-release-upgrade -d.
Interested in adding this to the repo. Seems to work fine on all the machines I've tested. Would you like to PR the changes so that you're credited? Stick the three lines in just above the Processor line I'm thinking.

Google Cloud charges $6,000+/month for the disk alone. Only the disk. I am not joking.
With "Extreme" persistent disk:
With "SSD" disk:
So yes, I just ran a fio test on a $6,000+/month disk and well
The funny part is that the server itself is cheaper, you're able to get 768GB of actual RAM for cheaper than this 500GB "extreme" disk
I guess I really should think about letting this lapse this year, even if it's just to get the same thing again, as the current KS-1 has double the RAM and disk for the same price. But I've had this for about 9 years and it'd be like getting rid of an old pet or something!

GeekBench might not scale up far enough for 96 cores, maybe ~32 is the max it's written for.
