HDD's aren't destroyed, damaged, or even impacted by Chia. HDD's are usually ok to buy used as long as they have low power on hours. Chia destroyed SSD's and NVMe's because of the high amount of reads/writes that are required to make a "plot" (which then gets moved to HDD). So, you should be good to go as long as you stay…

OneProvider is just a reseller. They resell OVH, Psychz, Online/Scaleway, WebTropia, and so much more. Their support is lacking and sometimes they falsely advertise/are a bit misleading but they're overall ok. They get reseller discounts which is why they're cheap.

I usually prefer using Debian 11, allocating all space to root, and then installing Proxmox on top. It's much easier than dealing with ZFS (only option via Proxmox ISO for RAID) or the weird partitioning Proxmox does :)

Enterprise drives are becoming a lot cheaper, most drives 10-12TB+ are NAS/enterprise already. If you're fine with refurbished, you can get 16TB's for as low as $180 and 14TB's for as low as $150 :) Refurb: https://www.amazon.com/Arsenal-7200RPM-3-5-Inch-Drive-Renewed/dp/B08K3TR9HD/ Although, the deal you pointed out is…

Another note, you don't need a Turkey gift card or credit card to get the discounted pricing. You don't even need a VPN. If you set your country to Turkey at checkout, you can use a regular Visa credit card without needing a VPN.

Small note, Hetzner Auction has much better storage deals with no setup fees starting at 1 euro per TB. https://www.serverhunter.com/#sort=price_per_hdd_capacity&sort_dir=asc

I won't lie, I preferred the previous website more :anguished: Looks too generic now

I have a question, @VirMach, do you even sleep? You work damn hard from what I've gathered so far in this thread, jesus. I can't even begin to fathom the volume of tickets that you've probably gotten so far.

We accept most crypto's: https://advinservers.com/vps BTC, ETH, LTC, DOGE, and some others are accepted :)

We do meet your hardware requirements (2 vCPU/10GB Memory/60GB NVMe in LA for $8/month) but unfortunately I don't think we meet your reliability/support requirements since we're still new/are only a 2 person operation :'( Netcup might meet your requirements - 8.75 euro for 6vCPU/8GB Memory/160GB SSD in Europe. They also…

You can probably proxy through a Scaleway VPS for free traffic :p

Your initial PM sounds like a demand instead of a request. To be fair to you, it could have been "lost in translation" if English isn't your first language, but it overall most likely came across as rude to HostSlick

You can only use the coupon in July and any services bought with the coupon will lose the discount at the end of 2022. So, if you bought a 5900X 128GB config for $129/month with the coupon code in this thread, it'll go back up to $200/month in January. I bought a server without realizing this :anguished:

Here's a little explanation on why it's free: There's this new thing called Flux, it's a crypto scheme that runs benchmarks (CPU, Disk, etc) and it requires you to perform above a certain threshold in order to get particular rewards. If you don't perform above the benchmarks, then you get removed from the network + the…

Honestly, I feel like LES should allow providers to post offers for ranges of products which might include something that isn't in the price range but must include something that is within the price range. For example, let's say we had the following plans (this is just an example): 1GB for $2/month 2GB for $4/month 3GB for…

Here's my 2 cents. I do believe that there is a (small) market for it, but as you said, it is indeed quite expensive for bulk storage since it's $45/TB. Most other cloud storage providers provide far more redundancy, better connectivity, and are far more trustworthy for cheaper. I do get that transparency is your primary…

Nice find, just grabbed it :)

What @tetech is saying is correct, get a cloud server in the same location. I've also experienced some very poor throughput from Ashburn Hetzner Cloud to Hetzner SB :(
-
Basically, I've noticed some very poor throughput issues when connecting from outside of Hetzner's network to a Hetzner SB. However, my throughput from outside of Hetzner's network to a Hetzner Cloud server was fine. My throughput from Hetzner Cloud Falkenstein to Hetzner SB Falkenstein was great, I was basically maxing…
