CHI2Z028 went down almost 4 hours ago now. It had been solid after the migration to it from a crapcrossing server until now.
-
Proof that FAT32 is a robot, can't solve captcha correctly!
-
SJCZ008 & NYCB004S just had posts on https://billing.virmach.com/serverstatus.php Virmach is alive and hopefully even managed some sleep this weekend?
-
Ah, welcome my fellow LAX neighbour, welcome to the "it worked great til it exploded" neighbourhood ;)
-
We're lucky they are still legible. Or not ancient curses being enacted upon datacenter staff & owners.
-
Not so sure you want it to be in Dallas. The remote hands there are literally that, hands with no brain attached. See https://lowendspirit.com/discussion/comment/93932/#Comment_93932

I always wonder why I haven't been notified when someone says ATLZ007 isn't working, then remember I'm on 6 not 7, soo close lol
-
Unfortunate combo of bad: * Management software sucks ass, said it sent the email earlier that day but didn't * Server owner sucks ass and pulled servers that were still trying to be kept and paid for
-
LImited time offer (until we either go to jail or give all our money to the court for past sins): Double the bandwidth on Racknerd if you bash Virmach?
-
Depends on how much Jab has bugged Virmach lately?
-
I'm guessing that it would be in fact more work for you if some of us didn't care about the restore but more having the vps active again (ie: we rebuilt from scratch once they were configured on a host node)? I know the two I have in this state have nothing critical on them and i can rebuild them pretty quickly but I…
-
True. Personally from my own crunch periods at various jobs, I think a lot is probably that Virmach was in headless chicken mode with a zillion things on a list to do until servers went down. And then they went down earlier ending all those plans. So now it's fix everything critical mode, which sounds bad but sometimes can…
-
IRC still works though! And even has like discord and other integrations for those people that refuse to upgrade heh. I think the other two are dead completely now?
-
sends ICQ and AIM usernames

Off network websites for critical stuff like status pages, etc in a pinch are a basic logical thing to do. Then again, so is taking free money someone is trying to give you for no effort. Common sense isn't really all that common.
-
From an outsiders perspective, from what I've gathered... They threw a hissy fit and cost themselves a bunch of money they had to do no work to get so they are now left with unused servers. So not good for multiple reasons as a business.
-
Yeah, even us Canadians make jokes about drinking US water they call beer ;) Yep, that's what I figured they were doing and should give anyone considering using them a clue as to how they will be treated if they become their customer with all of this history. I've actually got two stuck in that state, one from NY and one…
-
Yeah, raindog took some flack in the other thread about it but still seems to not see a problem with it and or even the fact that they are ignoring any issues with racknerd at the same time as they are doing those type of posts. (at least last I looked, I kind of got disgusted and stopped reading it) Pretty shady & sad.
-
A cynical person might assume that it was a celebration due to a bunch of super cheap servers being dumped on him
-
Virmach's new partnership will be with a whiskey company after all of this to recover and relax
-
Someone had been updating the basic points last i checked over there but not the official Virmach account. I'm pretty sure he prob doesn't want to deal with getting bombarded and side tracked more by their insanity, it makes my head hurt going there for anything.
-
When did WHMCS get logic? It was just random shit stacked higher and higher from what I remember lol
-
CPANEL and WHMCS, two things I definitely don't miss about the hosting world lol
-
Ouch, failed by yet another thing not really in your control. Did you like smash some mirrors or walk under a truck full of ladders or something lately? I can only hope that karma pays you back for all of this hell you've been goign through with many years of things working well. And maybe like a bathtub full of whiskey or…
-
I wonder if Virmach's neighbours can hear again. Because I know if after all the BS already happened / happening / still being sorted, this happened, there would lots of angry yelling. I knew this whole thing would be a rough period from my experiences in the business, so many changes in so little time and so many issues…
-
As a note for one of your previous issues, you could look at running something to auto convert your media. I use Tdarr personally at this time but there are other options including Unmanic, FileFlow and Ripbotx264 as well as a bunch I couldn't remember / prob don't know about I'm sure. Tdarr can run things on a schedule…
-
With Virmach's recent experiences, seems like no braincells to rub together are needed in some of these companies. I hope he's planning on going back over updates like these and documenting them all to the DC. Or beating them with the paperwork and contracts until they have a braincell fire. Something. I'd have been…
-
Careful, some of the ones around here might get a copy of your clone and do unspeakable things with it. Or your clone army might mutiny after dealing with some of the braindead things you've had to deal with. I really don't know why people try for that claim. At best it means they are too stupid and too cheap to have…

Lol Flexential has one location at the Infomart (1950 N. Stemmons Freeway). I used to work in Dallas many years ago and we had servers at the Infomart in Broadwing (at the time, Level 3 I think bought them?) on 5th or 6th floor (I forget, it was long time ago lol) and a small private space on one of the other floors where…
-
Yeah HiVelocity bought Incero. https://www.hivelocity.net/blog/hivelocity-acquires-dallas-iaas-provider-incerocom/ Yeah, know anyone in Dallas with a rack in their house? They'd be more useful & have better uptime probably. That's just scary bad. With the headaches you've had and how tired of it all that you must be, I am…
-
From the fact that I still have a number of vps that haven't migrated yet, I'm guessing there is a certain amount total that haven't changed yet. I'm assuming the future migrations left hopefully will be to existing systems that have been tested?
-
There was a notice on the status page about reconfiguring atlanta nodes a short time before your message, perhaps that? It's either that or you are on the same node as one of mine that disappeared this afternoon it shows according to monitoring ;)
-
Tampa = real sand, Miami = bits of your own packets ground up and spit back at you
-
Yep, I reinstalled mine from scratch (that one is a tiny bf so not much on it) and it's still up now hours later. crosses fingers
-
Yep, same. I poke mine with a stick occasionally but it hasn't really done anything of note since the first day.
-
pokes FFME002 with a stick nope, still dead. has been for a while, worked for like most of a day after i migrated there then dead :p
-
May need to check FFME002 as well I'm afraid, my migrated one to it has been down for quite a while. Every day or two I poke it with a stick but it seems pretty dead.
-
One of my VM moved from CHI to NYC and the other seems to be hiding on a node still in CHI heh.
-
I'd say you it sounds like you need more people but then you'd need to fit time in there to check & train people too so that just adds to your workload which doesn't help. Hang in there and avoid the kneecap and other bodily injuries, as someone that wrecked their back at the end of 2017 and did a major move in the middle…
