Something else that just popped into my head I thought I would mention, since I did not put my prices up and I start at only €3.75 p/year I have actually seen a big increase in orders for shared hosting since Oakley dropped the hammer on us all. So maybe I have gained all the customers that others have lost due to putting…

Working on a new hardware config to smooth out some of the IO bottlenecks people have been reporting, I suppose it is my fault for kidding myself that people will actually use them for storage :) Going to test out adding a caching layer to a storage server and raid 6 over raid 5, if it works out ok in my hammer tests over…

What exactly did you do, exactly? My guess is you just never installed grub on sdb, boot it with supergrubdisk find the OS, boot it, install grub.
-
In human noticeable terms, no not really.
-
^ seconded.
-
It is on the roadmap but the apache+nginx front end works wonders tbh.
-
Do you have any custom products setup using the "No module" option?
-
I have seen variations of that solution posted a number of times, I tried it a literal age ago and it caused issues with something or other, I genuinely forget what now that ultimately made it impossible for some customers to complete orders, obviously a disaster. I was not alone in that, coupled with every minor update…
-
I am not so sure about that, solusvm v1 currently and probably for the foreseeable future in the sole source of income for the solus brand, given what minor tweaks could do for improvement with minimal effort I would hope to see some updates on the WHMCS side but time will tell.

Right, found the issue. It is your browser doing it but the reason it only impacts this one is that I accidentally put a space in the summary tag e.g. < summary> instead of <summary> so it showed up as "Details" instead of "Click to expand and reveal offer.
-
@sanvit I did not, I think your browser decided to change that for you:
-
What happens when there are storage server sales is that you get a bunch of people transferring a huge amount of data, an extra 4TB in the past 36 hours, on top of that you see a ton of people maxing CPU and generating huge IOPS with ridiculous benchmark scripts that can take an hour to finish on a slow server, longer when…
-
It really depends, if it's not going to be busy then I would think it probably will not be human detectable either way, when it comes to being under load then you will see a difference with faster Ram/CPU. The real downside is really that if you do get issues with the storage VPS you will likely not get the same level of…
-
Yep, the issue is that people are repeatedly benchmarking disk io on a storage vps’s.
-
right, makes sense then.
-
Virtualmin then lighter weight, less crap, no cost, or use runcloud free.
-
oh right, so the prequels made the i, ii, and iii moves, still begs the question of what was the thought process in 1977 though.
-
There is no meaning, that was kind of the point. :) lost in translation. Well, the reply to reveal content plugin is top of the list, should remove some of those issues.
-
Yeah and if you don't want brand new cases etc give me around half that to spend €100 on a used Dell and €150 on a GPU and €50 on some extra ram, same result :)
-
I meant if you look here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Star_Wars_films The first movie that was out in 1977 was called "Episode IV – A New Hope" so what happened to the other 3? :p
-
Apparently that translates to "Use a proxy to order" and the box you tick that says "orders placed via proxies will be automatically rejected translates to "Please order anyway then open a ticket asking why" My entire morning has been spent dealing with that and taking abuse and being called racist, so whoever posted it…
-
Ah fair enough.
-
For what?
-
Honestly I play all those games with no issues on an I5 and a GTX 960, maybe the right thing to do initially would just be to upgrade the ram to 16 or 32GB and put a GTX1070 in there.
-
I am going to watch the following films in the following order if anyone is insane enough to join me. The Goonies. Big Trouble In Little China. Coming to America Star Wars Empire strikes back Return of the jedi I have no idea why the first star wars movie is named "Episode IV - A New Hope" what happened to III or II or…
-
No, not with just that 1 bit of individual information (offer) and some of it missed out.
-
Well this forum and the main site uses less than 1GB ram, so I would pick a provider that makes it easy to scale, start at 2GB and work your way up.
-
I would suggest you do the following: Get a VPS with a reputable provider, forget big fancy panels, you don't need them. Install runcloud (basic write up: https://lowendspirit.com/the-nuts-and-bolts ) deploy as many WP sites as you want on an optimised config provided for you. use the backup feature and you can literally…

I suppose it was asking too much not to copy-paste offers to other forums/sites: https://www.hostloc.com/thread-710253-1-1.html https://888777.xyz/vpstalk/216071.html https://www.yiyult.com/2020063064686.html Anyone taking responsibility for those?
-
Yeah not any more, anyone that doubled that up will be charged full price on renewal, sorry but I cant literally pay to provide a service.
-
I suppose I did say "No Rules" so its fine, please just apply common sense :+1:
