Ah, the joys of using an iPad in portrait mode. Didn’t see this as it’s way down on my screen. Thanks!

Category says ‘UK SSD KVM’ here. It’s obviously no KVM, hence the question. @Adam
-
Nice deal. UK based?
-
LOL, Online.net did this (in the past) so I leaped to the wrong conclusion.
-
No NVMe though. Or is 'regular' SSD also an option, @thedp?
-
Scaleway does afaik, I’m not sure about ExtraVM as I don’t currently have a machine there.
-
Scaleway has this. But yeah ? https://www.scaleway.com/en/pricing Maybe ExtraVM, but they seem to be OOS.
-
Why don’t you just share it here? I’m curious too.
-
I'm currently running it on Debian 9 and that works like a charm. Tried installing it on Debian 10 but ran in on too much compatibility issues. CentOS might be better, but it has been since '06 that I managed an RH-based Linux. Not really familiar with that.

Virmach: 1 vCPU, 2GB RAM, 45GB SSD == $0 (non-recurring)

Keyword stuffing :#

Still, if the demand of prospects and current customers for DA would be really high, I don’t see any provider deciding against it. More customers means more money and every company wants that. But of course the demand has to be high enough for them to make the investment. Maybe that’s where Germany’s conservatism kicks in.

This was basically what I wanted to post. Dutch webhosters. Even a lot of the mainstream ones, ever since the mid-2000s. It’s cheap.

Netcup has their yearly ‘Adventskalender’ deals this weeks. All deals are valid for one day: https://www.netcup.de/adventskalender/ Today’s deal is a VPS with 400GB of SSD storage. https://www.netcup.de/bestellen/produkt.php?produkt=2518

I’ve limited my hosting budget to € 25/m and am currently spending a bit over € 20/m, so there’s still room for new idlers. I used to spend a lot more on hosting. Dedis from Hetzners auction, dedis from Kimsufi and online.net relatively expensive shared hosting because why not. At the highest point it was probably around €…

If by 'coveted' you mean 'tried and trusted for me', this is my top 5: * PHP-Friends: Good cpu, a lot of ram, very fast SSD SAS storage for a very low price. Add to that very fast and friendly support, a good network and we have ourselves a winner. Really happy with them. * UltraVPS: Used to have a small VPS with them in…

Where I live that’s 2,27 Coca Colas in a bar or about 5 cans in the supermarket.
-
I hope so. Both sides are too emotional at the moment IMHO.
-
I mean for that amount of money there's really only one option.
-
Okay, so now I've got a VM in Piscataway. Going to find out what to do with it.

Meanwhile nothing's gonna change in terms of connectivity because most large European ISP's are sitting on a surplus of IPv4's that they acquired in the early to mid '00s. This was the era that a medium sized ISP from a tiny country like The Netherlands would get a /12 subnet. Everything you needed was a good explanation…

I think I know what you mean. Sadly, this goes for most larger providers in the Netherlands. With SmartDC being only 15 minutes away from us, most of the issues can be resolved be our own engineers. Might not be the best fit if you’re in Spain. But, depending on your wishes, still pretty good.

I've had 2 virtual servers at Aruba Cloud (one in DE, one in UK) and never experienced any problems actually. Contacted support once and the problem was swiftly taken care of. But I understand your mileage may vary? No other options in Italy, @mfs?
-
Aruba has this fattura elettronica as well (being an Italian company). They offer 'unlimited' webspace (database has storage limitations though). https://hosting.aruba.it/
-
OVH is, well, OVH. So, what @Amitz says basically. What I'm more curious about is why a portfolio website would need a whopping 250GB storage? Normally I'd say 5-10GB is more than enough and there are a lot of capable hosts here on LES that can accommodate that for you.

We (as in: me and the company I work for) are very happy with TransIP (The Datacenter Group) and i3D (SmartDC Rotterdam) in the Netherlands. Of course there's also Leaseweb or for instance Nedzone/nForce. Edit: At TransIP the minimum quantity is a half rack.

IPv4 was an extra option for $18/yr IIRC.
-
Ryzen I guess. AMD == black magic.

I'll advise anyone to take it while they can. Great value for money!
